And you'd think it was easily correctable, but...

Steve is a better talent, considering Hills injuries. Hill is a smarter player.

If you go over to the Real GM: Magic game thread, they are absolutely furious with Steve-O.

as best i can tell, the mobley/christie trade thought process went something like this:

we can let mobley walk and get a little cap flexibility this year. ahh, but we don't want to lose him for nothing.

so, what we'll do is, we'll get doug christie, who we plan to let walk for nothing for cap flexibility, but we'll get that flexibility in two years, not one. we wanna spend some money first. and as a bonus, he make like 8 or 9 million next season, so we'll get to spend a lot.

ahh, but at least if we're trading for a guy with a worse contract, well then he must be better than this mobley fellow. of course not, he's actually bad and at his age and rate of decline, well on his way toward terrible. and his only redeeming quality, defense, won't matter a lick under johnny davis. and as a bonus, he gets made fun of a lot for being whipped and he's gonna get hurt and give us nothing anyway which we were afraid of having when mobley left.

so we'll trade our starting SG, get nothing in return, alienate our starting pg and best player (yes solid, this is obvious), spend more money and spend it for an extra year, and at the end of it all, have nothing to show for it.

    ****ing brilliant.

like someone else said, i can't wait to see what steve is traded for. he traded young, high potential (if underachieving) drew gooden for low talent (though of course hard working) tony battie and for reason felt compelled to throw someone else in.

if CD could get him and isiah on the phone at one time and work a 3 way, we'd probably win the next 7 titles. andre barrett seems pretty scrappy.
