Crap, I forgot the most important one of all:

HOU is 32-21 this year without Mobley (60.4%)

    Hmmm.... :D

I was playing by YOUR rules, that situations don't matter. Mobley's first team won over 60% of the games so by your rules (no excuses) you have to credit him.

You never answered this one either. You could add perentially "losers" like Mike Bibby and Chancey Billips to this list to, until they found their current home.

It is far more fair to blame the Rockets 5 year skid on Francis than Mobley. The credit--good or bad-- is supposed to go to the star, not the role player, right?

In truth probably more blame is placed on SF than he deserved as well, but at least Mobley has had 1 season winning above 60%, SF NADA.

Yeah...i don't think Mobley was the Rockets problem. Mobley would fit well with this team right now. He plays solid defense, and he's a good shooter.

Sorry, I didn't answer this because I was making an observation about Mobley's teams, not Sura, Richardson, et al.

I also didn't "blame" Mobley for the performance of the teams he's started for - just making an observation. There is nothing wrong with Mobley's performance. It's just a curious "coincidence" that his teams are all just a little over 50%. Not bad. Not great.

You seem to think it's an attack on Mobley that I'm pointing out Sacramento has gone from 60+% to 50+% with Mobley. What about Orlando? They went from 25% to 50+% while Mobley was there.

Being honest though, I think Sacramento's record with Mobley will, more likely than not, end up being over 60%. But if it doesn't, you can bet I'll resurrect this thread. :p

Cuttino's a nice player, but for a couple of years he was the second best player on the Rockets team, and that just doesn't bode well for a team, when their second best player is a Cuttino Mobley. That's one of the reasons I think his game really thrived last season, when Yao really began to establish. I really thought Sacramento wouldn't miss a beat with Cuttino because of that reason.

I disagree with that sentiment - Mobley will not fit in will not fit in well here because the concept of being a role player is lost on him. His shot selection is still poor he lacks the selflessness exhibited by folks like Wes, Mac, Jon, Padgy and of course Yao. In fact everyone we have on our team now is royally selfless save for maybe Motay.

That doesnot take away from the fact that Mobs is a very solid player but not all teams fit certain players.

Imagine (or recall) how bad it is when your best player is Steve Francis.

what, you still finish over .500 even though your best help is cuttino mobley?

at least francis led us in +/- every year. can't ask for more impact than that from your best player. you would tend to expect better than break-even from your 2nd best player.
