Man, what is up with all the support for Cato!!! That guy was the laziest player on the Rockets....he only played when he felt like playing. That guy is an overpaid cry baby scrub!!!

Fancis and Mobley...come on, do you really think they can bring a championship home?? Not in my opinion. McGrady wants to win bad and I love the way he takes over games. Is McGrady almost in the same category as Bryant. I think so....the only reason why Kobe is so much better is because he has been with Shaq forever. McGrady and Yao.....add Jackson and some role players and you are good to go....McGrady can average 27-30 points a night and Yao can chip in 22-26. The rest of the players will be to complement the roster. Fisher, Barry...whoever they want is fine with me. Hurry and make this deal as soon as the NBA allows it. Francis is regressing as a player and Mobly just barely broke out this year after being just an average player for so many years. Also, if you look at Cat's stats, most of his stuff came from the 3pt line. We can have Fisher or Barry replace him...heck, lets just convince ugly Rick Fox play one more year, just kidding... J.Howard had an OK year, I would take in the deal too!!!

Maybe I'm confusing you with someone else but aren't you the guy who all throughout this last season, lambasted CD, lambasted the Rockets players, and lambasted the Rockets organization? Now you think what's funny?

whethere you are or not, you have to be feeling better than these bunch of dumb minion posters today. I mean, you're Hillboy, and then there's these goofy fantasy heads and their fantasy trades.. boy.. kids now days. Forget that Tracy Mcgrady is on record saying, 'if traded, he would like to come to Houston' Forget the fact that this thread is based on the fact that the Orlando Sentinal just mentioned that Orlando is asking for Francis, Mobley, and Cato, for Tracy Mcgrady. All that means nothing. These fantasy heads on here are a riot. They are as dumb as CD and the rest of the Rockets organization. You rock Hillboy.

Did I hear correctly that espn thinks that T-Mac can be had for Steve and Boki. The Rox would be fools not to take that trade. Then we turn around move Cat and Cato to Indiana for Harrington and Croshere. That would round out the lineup nicely:

    FA PG
    T-Mac
    Croshere / JJ
    Harrington
    Yao

Of course who knows which one of these deals proposed will actually go down.

Maybe ESPN thinks this but the actual source Orlando is asking for SF, Cat & Cato. So the SF & Boki for T-Mac deal is nonsense.

Do it! We are trying to win a championship, not trying to compete with the west. Like some ppl mentioned before, we might be set back a season but this trade would put us in contention for many years.

i'd do it. and for those who think our deal is weak compared to the others, francis is the best player being offered in any of those deals.

Long time lurker, minimal time poster.

Just out of curiosity (apologies if this idea has already been mentioned, I may have just not seen it), would those readers in the thread think that a sign & trade with the Lakers would be a possibility?

Presuming (probably not a big stretch of the imgination) that Bryant is exonerated, or at least found not guilty, of the charges that he currently faces, would it not be worth looking into a deal that would acquire him?

With the Lakers' fairly spectacular melt-down that I think most everyone here is anticipating this summer, I would think a trade with the Rockets might be appealing (from their perspective).

Imagine, if you will, a situation where Francis/Cato would be dealt to the Lakers for Bryant. It gives the Lakers a legitimate 2nd star that would give someone to share time with Jack, er Shaq. It would allow them to retain O'Neal & perhaps persuade Zen-Dork to hang around some more. Cato would be at least as valuable in a back-up role as Walton II & Medvenunspellable.

From the Rocket's perspective, Bryant would be, well he'd be Kobe-Freaking- Bryant.

For those that are rapidly prepared to shout "Kobe & Shaquille made Oscar & Felix a well-matched couple!!!!You idiot!!!", I would think that Bryant's big-as-TX ego would probably mesh significantly better with Yao's small-as-Rhode Island one. Also, wouldn't Bryant love to team up with O'Neal's budding rival? And be "The Man" to boot?

    I realize two things:

    1) Some people hate Bryant & would not want him here personally. I can dig that, but if he is innocent (not just not-guilty) who would not rather have his talent over McGrady's?

    2) I have no idea how this would work cap-wise, but with L.A.'s notoriously overpaid role players & our much ballyhooed (sp?) Trade Exception (which I'm beginning to suspect has more perceived power than that the Shroud Of Turan), I would think that something could be worked out monetarily.

    Just an idea.

Was ever a poor HillBoy more misunderstood. I don't find the various posters funny or dumb because I realize and appreciate the depth of their passion for the Rockets which, by the way, is a passion I also share. No, I find the TONE of their posts to be humorous as virtually everyone is taking this T-Mac trade so very very seriously - as if getting him even if they have to give away their starting backcourt, starting PF and TE in the process, is some sort of magic bullet that will instantly propel the Rockets into contender status.

This entire T-Mac issue is starting to get out of hand - there is a thread now on trading Yao for T-Mac & their no. 1. Another guy is posting that within 2 years of making this trade, Houston and Orlando could meet in the NBA Finals. And if that's not far out enough, threads are starting to appear that raise the idea (again) of bringing back Eddie Griffin to be our starting PF (it's deja vu all over again!). Passions are running at a fever pitch! Tempers are flaring! Insults are being exchanged! Lines have been drawn in the sand! Ambassadors have been recalled! You are either FTT (For The Trade) or ATT (Against The Trade)!

I confess, I find all of this animosity to be refreshingly funny and so I continue to follow these events with a slight chuckle. As for CD & Co., they are still as dumb and as clueless as ever as they stumble through the NBA universe. Unfortunately (for the rest of us), THAT is NOT very funny at all.

Wow, you sound like all of the angry Laker fans over here. So, what you are saying (if I understand you correctly) is that by getting T-Mac, the Rockets can now expect to win 3 NBA Championships and lose one in the Finals. Man! That would be neat!

Yeah I'm soo sure "CD & Co." are "still as dumb and as clueless as ever as they stumble through the NBA universe." Is that why trading for Drexler after the first championship got us our 2nd Championship. We have BACK TO BACK titles and you (as well as others) want to get so negative about our chances of improvement via trade. We are not known as a team that is good at developing young talent (except Hakeem....but that doesn't count b/c UH and Moses did that for us). I'm pretty sure "CD & Co." can do it once again. Have a little faith, bring T-Mac in, build around them and start to BELIEVE again.

Assuming this trade be true. Then Rox will have 2 allstars in the west again while Francis will be watching the allstar game as a spectator next season.

Why? Billups and Davis will be considered better choices than Francis to play next to Kidd.

I know it hurts you that Franics makes the all-star team. But Davis will be in the west next year... so you better pray for marbury.

Ha! You actually got it wrong. I have voted Francis in the past few seasons. I could be the reason why Stevie got voted in last season. Who knows.:D

I forgot about the realignment though ...
