someone else going to the game bring a poster that says..

"The guy with the rafer-sucks poster sucks"

    or

    "yugo rocket sucks"

then maybe he will catch on to how irrelevant and wasteful such a poster is.

I just realized how awkward it's going to be to have Brooks vs Alston in the PG slot.

To 80% of degree, the result of that game depends on how many shots they each make.

the standing ovation has lost its meaning. If you're giving one to Rafer Alston, just goes to show how much has changed.

Rafer Alston: All Magic need at point guard.

Rafer still keeps the Magic being a contender, though the substitution of him and Nelson has downgraded the Magic from a title contender to a WCF contender.

Rafer is a good guy, but he'd have to be a real miracle worker for the Magic to contend for the Western Conference Finals. :D

When Steve Francis was booed in his return, I was embarrassed (though not surprised, given the relative stupidity of most sports fans in general).

Here was a guy that played his ass off for this city, and while things didn't work out as originally hoped (I was among his most vocal critics), he didn't deserve anything less than a respectful applause, if not a standing ovation.

It's true that Rafer was this team's weakest link for the last 4 years, but he too poured his sweat for this team and was in some ways, it's heart and emotional leader. He always had his teammates' backs and has been nothing but gracious and respectful of Yao and the team in his comments since the trade.

I'll never understood why sports fans have this basest attitude in regards to former players, even those who left on good terms not within their control. Contrary to what you may think, it's not 'cool', it's not witty, and it doesn't make you any more of a 'fan.'

Please, don't be a classless idiot tonight. It's really embarrassing.

I don't think the fans have to react to Rafer one way or another. Definately don't boo him, that would be stupid. You don't just boo any player that gets traded. He didn't ask to be traded, he didn't cause chemistry issues with other teammates.

And besides, we should be thanking him for showing Brooks the ropes for 1 and a half seasons.

I really hope the Houston fans don't boo Skip his first trip back to Toyota Center; he was a good player for us with a good attitude, and I'm glad that if he had to get traded it was at least to a contender that really needed him.

I always thought Skip was a good player for our team, and that he was a class act all the way-and I think these comments he made in the Sentinel really solidify that fact.

I was sad to see Skip traded at the time, but perhaps it was for the best in the short and long run with Brooks being a quick up and coming point guard in this league; one that could develop into a top 10 talent or better.

But Alston did some good things while he was here in Houston. He wasn't a great PG, and he had a lot of flaws, but he always managed to run the offense pretty well on top of playing good all around basketball-he deserves to be cheered by the Houston fans, and I personally wish him the best of luck and success in the next couple of years.

Anybody that boos Rafer tonight should be beaten with the common sense stick until it becomes abundantly clear how ignorant you are.

Great to hear his doing okay he deserves it for all the years he tried his best with the Rockets.

Hope he doesn't get his hopes up for next year since Nelson might come back and just snatch the starting PG position, or will he outplay him?..like he did the past few years with every PG we got. I'll have to wait and see...

It make no sense to boo the guy. We boo him enough when he with Rockets. Fans should give him standing O and show love by celebrate his bricks. :p

Geeeze, if people boo at least they are in the seats. It's just embarrassing how many empty seats there are especially in the lower bowl. The Rockets should charge extra for people not showing up to games, especially when they are nationally televised! Or at least allow upper bowl people to come down after the half if seats are empty.

But I agree, don't be lame and boo Rafer. He never did anything to deserve it.

Rafer was an integral part of the Rockets squad that we watched win 22 games in a row, and he certainly doesn't deserve to be booed.

It's unfortunate that he didn't work out for the Rockets, but he played hard every night, and always tried to make the right move.

I'm excited to see Rafer play against the Rockets. I hope him the best. I hope he goes off, as long as the Rockets still win, heheh.

The Rockets gameplan will be to leave Rafer on the threes, because everyone else they put on the floor are scoring threats. So if Rafer does go off, that's probably bad news for us.
