I've still got the '95 Laser Discs with the "faces" covers. Too bad my LD player is on the fritz lately, won't even power up.... They looked surprisingly good on my 61" LED DLP even with the original 360 lines of resolution of the LD format.

Havent read thru the thread so forgive me if it's been asked/answered already, but what's the difference? In the sense that.. Don't you get more out of a film with special editions?? I guess I mean, what is it about the specific version you're searching for?
MAN, what's with all these geezers hatin' on Jar Jar? The dude rocks! Mesa like heem, is demanded by the gods, it is!
What about the 2-disc DVD releases a few years ago which contained the theatrical editions and the widescreen enhanced versions? http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Two-Disc-Widescreen-Theatrical/dp/B000FQJAIW http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Versions-Two-Disc-Widescreen/dp/B000FQVX78/ref=pd_bxgy_mov_text_y http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Episode-Versions-Widescreen/dp/B000FQJAJG/ref=pd_bxgy_mov_text_z
Doubt it exists. You want the AVCHD dvd upscaled on a good blu-ray player anyway... There are "despecialized" color-corrected version of the OT too that are a must-have. The official blu-rays are garbage.
I found one site that has it, but it requires registration which I really don't like to do with sketchy free movie sites.
If you find a way to contact me I can set you up. Or maybe register under your clutchfans name at http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/ and I'll get in touch with you there.
