Portland doesn't realize all they get by acquiring Weatherspoon.

    1. They get an expiring contract
    2. A possible amnesty cut using a washed up player
    3. And...the pack of hot dogs on the back of Weatherspoon's neck. Actually he has 2 packs back there. I call Weatherspoon 2Pac P4.

It's better off if Stoudamire doesnt sign with the Rockets. Unless he is willing to take the lle or whatever, the Rockets shouldnt waste depth ( Howard, Wesley, Sura, etc.) and a lot of money to bring this guy in. He is too old and one dimensional. If the Rockets are going to give a pg a long term deal it better be one that is around Yao, Mcgrady, and Swift's age. I would rather run a platoon of Sura,James, and Head at the point than Damon Stoudamire, who needs the ball in his hands to be effective. That being said, if they can get him for little money, then of course they should. But not much.

Didn't the Memphis Grizzlies just trade for Bobby Jackson?

What would they want Stoudamire for?

I'm still pulling for Jay Williams.

But another option would be a S&T for Jason Williams. What do you think?

We're going to need more then "adequate" PG play and a banged up, damaged good PG who was never a good PG to begin with to get out of the West. I don't know what this infatuation is with Jay Williams, the guy wasn't a good PG when he was a 100%. He's a back-up PG at best.

Jay is OK to sign for the vet min (no lux tax). He can go down to the NDBL while we check him out further.

Jason has a terrible contract and is an unreliable player. No way do I volunteer to take him off Memphis unless they gives us a 1st rounder for the trouble.

I hope he gets signed with part of the Grizz's MLE. Then I eagerly await the implosion of that team. They keep spinning their wheels, making lateral/downright stupid moves. It's only a matter of time before West resigns/gets fired and they go into firesale mode.

I wouldn't be fine with that. We have the opportunity to clear up cap space, get some dead weight off our roster. And you wanna trade it away for DS and Derek Anderson.

If it were for a younger DS and a more talented DA, then yeah, I'd do it. But in a year, or even mid-season next year, I imagine a better offer will roll around. I don't wanna pull the trigger on the first available opportunity to upgrade the team. I'd rather wait it out for a good fit.

If he goes to the Grizz, they're gonna have a good PG duo - bobby jax and D stoud.... I wonder how our backcourt can matchup to them? Anyways, I'm not fully sold on stoudamire to be here if not only for his 3 pt shooting

LOL. You're right, only a matter of time. I'm still not sure I believe any of this. But if it is true, then West has gone from trying to improve his team to trying to sabatoge our improvement by throwing up roadblocks and trying to take players away from us. I find it hard to believe that DS wants to go there and doubly hard to believe that they are going to overpay for him.
