http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4446898 Suspended for the rest of the season. Justice has been served
No, I'm not. If a player is going to taunt the opposing team, he should be held equally accountable for the repercussions. Needless to say, I very much dislike taunting and tough-guy posturing in sports.
Blount should have said that the guy he punched was making strong racial slurs. They wouldn't have suspended him for the year.
I wouldn't have a problem with the Boise kid getting a game suspension because what he did was definitely wrong and over the line even though I know he was probably provoked earlier by Blount. I think Blount should get about a 3-4 game suspension for the punch. However, I think he probably needs to be done for the rest of the season for his actions after the punch. That could have been a lot uglier than it turned out to be.
Sir Charles would have been proud of Blount IMO. Apparently this guy has a history, so suspending him for the season seems like the right move.
I think you're close: the fair solution is to punish both players, but Blount deserves more. Both Blount and Hout talked mess, but Blount was the one who threw the first punch. While that little shoulder shove was definitely provocation, it doesn't equate to or deserve a punch. Hout should be suspended for five games, and Blount should be removed from the team. If the NCAA really wants to prevent future incidences like this, the will come down on them BOTH like a ton of bricks.
Well I guess Blount was right when he said this won't happen again because now he won't have the chance to do it.
Blount would have jumped into the crowd if it weren't for 3-4 coaches/players restraining him. Here's a video of that...http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...ex.html?cnn=yes The BS player shouldn't have taunted but that's no excuse to throw a punch. As I posted, Blount was talking a ton of $hit before and during the game and followed it up with a 8 carry -5 yard performance. He was frustrated and snapped, it happens, but I agree with the punishment. You just cannot thrown a punch in the first game of the season on national tv.
This is coming from a half man, half bear, and half pig creature. So why am I not surprised you would feel this way?
No one was on the field, so yall dont know what was exchanged. Dude could walked up to him and said "I effed your mom." Looked like he deserved it. I say this because it didnt seem as if his coach was upset about it.
This is largely moot since he has been suspended for the rest of the year but I doubt keeping Blount gives the Ducks a better chance at winning. He's showed he's emotionally fragile and undisciplined and brawling with your fellow players and coaches is terrible for team morale.
