Did anyone catch his "apology" afterwards (if you want to call it an apology)? Saw that on Sportscenter this morning and he basically looked like he was reading from a script; didn't come across as too remorseful.
After looking a bit into the history of the Oregon player, I think you and RocketmanJosh are probably right. BS player should've left it alone, but the guy from Oregon certainly does have dubious history.
Why do players trash talk and taunt anyways? Go out there and try to get a W. If you have to insult someone to have fun, you have serious problems. All parties involved were wrong. There will certainly be a suspension handed down to the Oregon RB. I'd assume it will be more than a game. If he misses the Cal and Utah games that will be a huge blow to his team.
I think the Oregon player is obviously an immature punk, but after rewatching the video the BS player looks like he was being a jerk as well. It doesn't make the punch any less pathetic though.
This I certainly agree with. I'm sure the BS player was talked to by his coaches. Shouldn't do it even if the Oregon player was talking trash all game, but the punch was at a WAY different level. Maybe Blount should have a sit down talk with Kermit Washington
Combine sports, adrenaline, and testosterone and it seems inevitable. It gets annoying. I play sports to relax and have fun. Dealing w/ trash talkers does the exact opposite and makes me want to leave, even if I am kicking their butt.
The Oregon guy should have gone down to the local Walmart and slapped the bejesus out of a kid. That's all the rage these days for stress relief....

Blount was talking all sorts of crap before the game and followed it up with a 8 carry -5 yard performance. The Boise state player shouldn't have taunted but it does not warrant a sucker punch. Don't forget he was pushing his own coaches who were trying to restain him. No excuse IMO.
The Boise player didn't do anything that doesn't already happen at the end of countless games. He was talking a bit of mess after winning. Furthermore, he was talking to a player who in the offseason said that were going to "deliver an ass-whuppin'" to Boise. He was talking mess to a player (Blount) who was suspended from practice earlier this offseason for an attitude problem. So, talking mess with his helmet off may not have been smart, and tapping Blount's shoulder pad might have been a bit much. But NO WAY did the BS player deserve to get hit in the face for that. Those who say he did are ridiculous.... Oregon embarrassed themselves on so many levels last night. Season down the toilet instantaneously.... And Phil Knight can't buy himself out of this mess.
The Boise State dude was talking **** and he tapped Blount on the shoulder like "ya b**** what now" and you could tell the Boise State coach was trying to restrict his player and get him to STFU before he gets knocked out. The funniest part is when he gets knocked out Boise State coach didn't even look to see who punched his player or why.... he already knew it was going to happen and the best he could do was watch his player's eyes roll back and help his player from droppin like a sack of potatoes. With that said.... Blount is a moron. His college career is done and his chances of going to the NFL is done as well. Such a shame too as he set the schools single season TD record last year and had a promising career. This is what happens when you lose your cool. You can lose everything you've worked for in your life in a heartbeat.

WOW....just, wow. ....and to think, Blount is a senior too. They should hand out awards to people that are this stupid.
The Boise St kid absolutely got what he had coming - you won, be happy, head to the locker. To purposefully seek out, physically grab the attention of, and mock a player you beat? You've got no call to be upset when he punches you in the mouth. Try reenacting this scene at a sports bar sometime. I'm not saying Blount should be excused AT ALL. Suspend him for at least 5 games, if not kick him off the team. Going ape on the fans afterwards, impersonating the Incredible Hulk with security, coaches, and teammates trying to herd you into the locker room, the prior incident and suspension for being a jack.....I have no sympathy for what is going to drop. But again, Boise St kid doesn't physically grab his pads to taunt him, nothing happens. Boise St just runs his mouth while walking past....I sincerely doubt anything happens. The punch isn't allowable, isn't condonable, isn't justified.....but Boise St kid asked for what he got. Evan
