If Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold knew how to make proper fuses and timers, they would have killed hundreds of people. They intended to kill hundreds of people. Thank the gods their bombs didn't work.

By all means, if you think you can get a repeal of the 2nd amendment, work for it.....it's a totally futile effort just as if someone wanted to repeal the 1st amendment.

If you don't want to just waste your breath, you'd be better off moving to a country that better represents your values.

"Conservatives remain complacent, see nothing wrong with being the only industrialized nation with mass killings you can set your watch to."

    See how easy that is?

Sure that was their intent, and they attacked a "gun free zone" (read: easy target) that had only token security. With increased security at soft targets, there won't be the opportunity to potentially kill hundreds.

Well, fortunately I'm a citizen of another nation, so I have that option. The weather's way better here, though.

Anyway, the right of dissent is untouchable, but I believe the 2nd Amendment could eventually be repealed, and most definitely will be narrowed in my lifetime. Gay marriage and pot have come about a lot more quickly than anyone would have expected 15 years ago.

*insert* move to the middle east if you don't like gay marriage.
*insert* move to china if you don't like drugs.

Such constructive arguments. Maybe we should all move out.

Still haven't heard one logical argument against stricter gun laws.

Slippery slope arguments of Constitution being destroyed is about as useful as gay marriage will lead to a rise of bestiality.

I have been to Paris. I do not want to go back again. I work for a French company that sends people there annually for conferences. I could easily go every year but I now try to get out of it. The people are rude and the food sucks. My bad Paris experiences keeps me from wanting to see any other places in Europe.

Why don't you move to a place that more aligns with your values, say Mogadishu? I hear there are no gun free zones and there's plenty of security forces.

If you have any interest in history at all, you owe it to yourself to visit Rome and Berlin. The French can be a bit testy to travelers.

They traded fire with a security guard on campus...

And when hundreds are killed at once, and we seem to be moving towards that, it'll be another bomb that does it. A few security guards with assault weapons might not even be able to react before it goes off.

The problem is that you don't see what the 2nd amendment has in common with legalized mar1juana and gay marriage, those are all situations where civil liberties won out....not one where civil liberties were removed. Americans overwhelmingly support their freedoms and won't tolerate them being removed. The right to keep and bear arms is every bit as untouchable as the right to dissent, that's what some don't understand. The country moving in the direction of MORE civil liberties in no way suggests that they will want to give up civil liberties.

I would agree that anyone who had a problem with gay marriage should probably move, the US strongly supports the equal protection of all people under the law, and that includes homosexuals. If you can't stand that, leave.

Same goes for mar1juana. Again, people in the US strongly support civil liberties, if you want to live somewhere that doesn't, then you should go country shopping.

Yeah, that was a token security force who mostly ran away. I was suggesting that these soft targets have better, more trained security.

a few bombs going off and someone sitting out by the exits with an automatic machine gun could pull it off. it's horrible to imagine but as often as this crap happens it is possible.

Well what is it? Do you want more security at schools or more guns at schools. What's the point of more security when the entire student body is packing at the same time? It would only take a handful of concealed carriers to enroll for a semester in order to plot their killing spree. They have their guns with them of course.

I'll bet it doesn't. If nothing changed after Sandy Hook, it's hard to believe things will ever change.
