No you haven't. You've given yourself about a 90-95% chance of having a mediocre QB and wasting the next 2-3 years before repeating the process over again. That has nothing to do specifically with Taj Boyd - that's true of any 2nd round or later QB. There's a reason they don't go in the first round.

Anecdotal evidence is a terrible way to make arguments. I could just as easily say Manning and Elway say 'sup. And Colt McCoy, Jimmy Clausen, and Brian Brohm say hi. It's just as irrelevant. Go do the math on 1st pick QB success vs 1st round QB success vs later round QB success.
There is no math to be done, each draft is a random series of events, I was only pointing out the draft position doesn't necessarily equate to career success. Just because JFF goes high and Boyd goes lower only matters to their bank accounts, it lends no merit to their future career outputs.

Usually you can't. And while there are certainly misses in the first round, the odds of finding a solid QB are still much greater in the first than they are later on.
That's only the case when taking a QB in the 1st round because of contract and guaranteed money so you pretty much have to stick with those guys to see if they work out. Like the Rams, Jags, and Vikings had to do with Bradford, Gabbert, and Pounder. Different story with QBs taking in later rounds.
Yea, he's going to hurt his draft stock if he doesn't pick it up. That's why a lot of QBs don't participate in the Senior Bowl are throw at the combine.

Jeremiah: Tajh Boyd could solidify himself as second-round pick Clemson's Tajh Boyd will be one of the most scrutinized players this week at the Reese's Senior Bowl, and two NFL Media analysts have differing views on him. Daniel Jeremiah said he thinks Boyd could solidify himself as a second-round pick with a good performance this week, though Jeremiah does have some concerns. "One thing that I struggle with is when he needs to shuffle, reset his feet, when he gets pushed off his mark, decision making and accuracy takes a tumble," Jeremiah said Tuesday on NFL Network. But Jeremiah praised Boyd's running ability, especially near the goal line. "I kind of thought as a runner he was a big asset down on the goal line because he is a power runner," he said. "He's like a mini Steve McNair out there. From yards out, he's tough to get down on the ground. There's a lot of elements of his game to like." As for Boyd's size, which is a touch under 6-foot-2? "His inconsistency and accuracy -- that's what's going to be holding him back more than his size," Jeremiah said. Mike Mayock, however, said he is worried about Boyd's size and said Boyd "has to work hard to get into the second round." He compared Boyd to former Ravens quarterback Troy Smith. "I was in Baltimore when we drafted Troy Smith," Jeremiah said. "I think (Boyd) is a little more accurate than Troy was. Troy, even when things were clean at times, could get erratic. When you see Tajh Boyd with time, and he can be in rhythm, he can sling it." Mayock also said he likes how Boyd can throw "from different platforms," referring to his arm angle. "He has an ability to fit it through defenders," Mayock said.
Categorically false. Brees and Manning especially were accurate. It was about decision making. Often times during their first couple years they would read a coverage wrong and throw it right to where the receiver should have been (in their minds) Manning was very accurate coming out of the gate. Eli Manning's issue is consistency, he can be on the money at times but then have mind boggling throws. Boyds case is that he is simply not that accurate
Bad decision making _ Bad accuracy... That's like arguing over which ugly girl you want. Interceptions are interceptions and Eli is still throwing them and so does Brees. And Eli turns his back on his follow through a lot to avoid a hit. He probably doesn't even see where the ball is going half the time.
Accuracy can be fixed. However, it is something you would expect to be fixed by college coaches, especially at a big program like Clemson. They pay their coaches too much not to fix a mechanical problem after 4 years.
I would almost put my house up for grabs for anyone that think we won't take QB number one overall and OL with the 2:1.
