I understand what you guys are saying but eventually Republicans will turn on Trump. He will be so politically wounded running in 2020 won't be an option. When that becomes clear, he will become a lame duck and nobody will listen to him anymore while all focus is on 2020. Trump has a visceral fear of becoming irrelevant. I think he's known for some time a re-election run won't happen and is deathly afraid of the day everyone realizes that.
