I use Bic's sensitive skin value packs that comes in 12 single blade razor for $4.99. Its too expensive to replace the mach 3 blades and sometimes they're always out of them. I also think its a waste of money for the gel...a lathered soap work just as good.
How many times do you guys use the same razorblade? I used to just use them twice before chunking them, but I've been using a trick to get more shaves out of each blade. Just get a small cup and put some baby oil in it. After you use the blade, just let is soak in the baby oil for a few days until it's time to shave again. You can get more shaves per blade by doing this.
I use the same blade for months. Should I replace every two shaves?! And for great deals on razors, check out eBay. I found it to be much more affordable.
Honestly, I don't know. It's just something I did. Doesn't the blade get dull after a while? I wonder how many shaves most guys get out of a razor. I think we need more input because I really don't know.
About a month here ~ I use a mach 3 when i'm not ripping the hair off my face with bear claws. The razor gets pretty dull by the end of the month which can cause more ingrown hairs.
Me too......with Gillette Gel. The multiple blade thing does not work for me and I cannot explain it (beats me).
I get between 4-7 rounds on one single blade stick. Somehow I only manage to get about 1-2 with multiple blades sticks with lots of discomfort. I shave at least twice a week. I bet I can go longer that 7 shave rounds on the single but since it is cheap anyway I toss them voluntarily even when it is not dull. So yeah I guess one can go on with one fore a month or thereabout as long as comfort level is still high. I use Nivea aftershave. Yeah I am wuss.
I can't stand shaving. Unless i grow my facial hair out for a couple days so i can make sure i get a good shave without cutting myself. My damn skin is too sensitive to shave everyday without cutting myself somewhere on my face. I use the Mach 3 Turbo now.
Mach 3 Turbo and i love it. i used an electric for a long time but it never gave a close shave and the one time i tried out a plain Mach 3 i thought it sucked. but this Turbo gives a nice shave and lasts quite a while. i think i've gone about a month on this one and that includes two shaves where i let it grow out for a week (which is quite a bit to shave). it's pretty much at the end of the line and doesn't get it close like early on but it keeps getting the job done so i haven't felt the need to replace it. there's this spot on my chin where if the razor is dull it will start pulling the hair too much and once that happens i know to switch, but it hasn't happened yet and i've toughed out a few tugs here and there. so while Mach 3 Turbo is more expensive, i definitely recommend it.
I have only used an electric shaver, I use a Norelco, just dont wanna hassel with razors cutting my face up and what not. Although cutting with a razor cuts closer but still not worth it in my opinion. Yea i'm a wuss, oh well.
Well, this thread has convinced me to order the sample of TSS. If it works half as good as everyone in here says, I will be a very thankful man.
You're kidding, right? Raven, you won't regret it. I used it this morning. My face feels like a baby's ASS.
That may be a slight exaggeration, but I wouldn't know. I've never counted how many times I use a razor. I guarantee I use one at least 30 times. I shave 3-4 times a week, and let my beard grow on the weekends. I typically change blades every 3-4 months. And I have a thick beard. EDIT: There's no way I could do this with a single-blade straight razor. Those I can use 3-4 times, tops. The Mach 3 with the lubricating strip works wonders. I only switch blades when they get too dull, and I get too many knicks per shave. The Mach 3 can handle this job many, many times.
Damn, my face would be torn up if I tried that. I usually change blades after every 4-6 shaves. I shave twice a week lately.
You're a bit late. We've already shifted the "Man Demarcation" to shaving with open flames and bear paws. Better luck next time, Doris.
