Better to just sit him. I would hate for Brooklyn to pick him up. He is still a good player and could hurt our pick. Lakers could really use him too.
I think Christopher is trending in the direction of PG but he has work to do .... I do want to see a lot more of Nix,
KPJ had better games recently relative to his own standards, but I'm really not convinced of him as point guard. This is my personal opinion, but the likelihood is that Rockets Org would still keep him as PG despite what I think. Being serviceable doesn't equate to unearthing the next Luka. If they're hell bent on giving him minutes, KPJ can take the SF spot. JC and Nix can still audition for point guard. Nix playing PG in D-league and why not for JC. KPJ before this season wasn't point guard, I think Christopher has the aptitude. Yes no Schroder, which is why I didn't put him on my original post. ---- On KPJ, if we're honest with ourselves, and look at all the current starting PG in 30 NBA teams, how many would they willing to trade their starting PG for ours. (if money equal) Take bottom record teams for example 4 bottom east and 3 bottom west. Pistons - Cade 1 Magic - Cole Anthony / Suggs - debatable if KPJ is better 2 Pacers - Duane Washington Jr. 3 Knicks - Kemba (injury prone, so I'll give the nod to KPJ, but Kemba has done a lot more) Thunder - SGA / Giddy Kings - Fox Spurs - D. Murray. Even among the worst teams in the league, 3 of the 6 here are clearly better. --- For teams with better records... 4 Maybe Washington (Dinwindie) 5 Maybe Pelicans (Graham) Wouldn't count Lakers (Westbrook, since Lebron really should be point-fwd). That's what maybe what 4-6 teams out of 30 where KPJ is maybe equal or better? There's maybe one or two more one can argue, but we're talking bottom 20%.
Augustin had to be waived in order to complete the (3 for 1) trade. I don’t get why Brooks cleared waivers before Augustin, since I thought they were waived simultaneously.
We don’t need either one, but Schroeder is way better than Augustine, so yea why keep him over Augustine? Hope he doesn’t screw the tank.
Augustin actually shot over 40% (smaller sample size). He did what was asked of him. Schroeder is a volume scorer and a flashy player but he rarely does exactly what is asked of him, it is more the coach that has to maneuver the game plan a little around Schroeder. He joins the club of average to below average BBall IQ player IMO.
Augustine has been terrible on defense. BB is played on both sides of the court. Augustine is a lot older and slower and on the downside of his career if its not completely over. Schroeder would be grabbed up in a country second if released, especially by the Lakers who could really use him.
You are right that he is much older but we are not going for the consolation prize but the highest pick possible in the Top 3........ We lost Armoni (23) as well, I think he just had a bad season.
I don’t want either one and for sure don’t want to play either one. Was just responding to DD who is intimating that Augustine was better. I’m all in for the tank. We need top 3 really bad.
I'd love to see what Moses Brown, Okpala and Woodard II could do with a fresh start. They might be useful
Another player worth a look is Harry Giles 6'11 with a 7'3 wingspan Nice all around game Knee injury concerns - but potentially worth bringing in for a look, see what the Drs think
Kanter not on that list. Rockets may choose not to waive him to preserve the Theis trade. He's been turning up the heat in social media.
