He might be worth a look but are Rockets willing to bring in a 5 who can’t switch or hit 3’s? Seems like we’ve clearly avoided those types plus with Wood and Sengun there will be zero minutes
I like Brooks, but I kinda think we know what he is as a player, and Garrison Matthews is just a much better version of him. They've been growing Nix in the G-League all season and might have plucked the best undrafted player from this rookie class; I'd lock him down whil you still can.
Why do people reply with information that they gave no idea about Nix is on a 2-way, there isn’t enough games in the season left for his deal to be required to be converted either
Didn’t say it is required, but if we sign him now it will eliminate competition for him in the off-season. We’ll see who’s right.
Its me, you think he’s on a 10 day. I’m not arguing we won’t give him a contract, btw. I think it’s possible we sign him to a hinkie special, same contract Brooks was on, that Mathew’s got. I’m just saying he’s not on a 10 day and they aren’t required… excuse me, they don’t “need” to give him a contact. As for competition in the off season, he’d be a restricted FA.
We need a shot blocker. Based off what I read, Malick Badiane is finally ready to come over to the NBA.
I surrender. I did think he was on a 10-day. I still it thinks it makes sense to sign him before the end of the year if they are high on him. Being a restricted FA doesn’t eliminate competition and it might just increase his leverage if another team is as high on him as some are. Of course, maybe he isn’t good enough to sign. We won’t know if they don’t give him a rehearsal this year.
