I'm really surprised that a QB that was hand picked by the Texans coach was chosen to be the starting QB after an "open" competition by the same head coach. Ryan Fitzpatrick named Texans Starter
As long as Fitz doesn't turn the ball over and is a game manager we should be okay. Let the defense and running game carry you.
I have been so excited about OBrien, but he could turn out to be as big a bust as Kubiak. Then Uncle Bob will extend him two or three times over a ten year period of fan misery. Oh please spare us of that. His choices of QBs raise serious questions. Was Fitz the best available? Savage?
When I first saw this I was hoping they had named the QB that they are going to cut rather than just naming Fitz the starter. knowing who is going to be the #2 IMO is more interesting.
Me too. Though, I will say Fitz at this time last year, my argument would have been Fitz' highs are higher than Schaub and his lows are lower. After last year, there is no getting lower than Schaub's lows.
Best case scenario is that they don't expect anywhere near as much from Fitz as they did from Schaub and he manages to be safe with the ball and let the team win with the running game and defense.
