As for the open practice, I find them to be kinda lame. Probably because I want to see some basketball and they just half ass it out there. I know I know it's only scrimmage. Don't really care for the dance off either. But it's a nice free event that's rocket related.

you really can't use the first game of the nba season, in a new stadium, of a rivalry game as a way to back up your argument about ticket prices being high...

 

It's for one game. The prices go bunkers for marquee games (Brooklyn rivalry, Lakers, Miami, etc.) but can be lower.

For example, I went to one Knicks vs. Bucks game pre-Linsanity while the Knick were in a funk, got lower bowl tickets for around $45 each on StubHub.

You can bring a camera, but there's usually a limit on the lens size (don't know if it will be enforced for a fan activity though). You can bring a backpack, they'll just check it at the door. You can not bring a basketball to get autographed (many people tried that last year), and if you don't have anything to get signed, they'll give you a glossy Rockets postcard looking paper to get autographed.
