Of all the issues the USofA has with firearms regulation, differentiating between open vs concealed carry is pretty damn far down the list of stupid.
Rockets games new half time entertainment can bring back one on one duels. Pick two random people from the crowd, winner gets a hundred thousand dollars. Loser dies.
You should be concerned with the logic that we all need guns to defend ourselves because we let everyone have guns.
The logic is that you can't always count on others to protect you, people should do whatever they can to protect themselves and it'll make for a more secure world overall.
Of course But we play the hand we are dealt. What we can do now is ensure that licensed open carry continues on instead of permissive open carry, but sadly the pro-gun people will win that one too: 28 states have permissive open carry now
I think it's patently obvious that the expansion of gun rights continually pushed by the NRA and a vocal minority of paranoid, anti-government preppers and loons is not going to stop at licensed open carry.
Perhaps, what's your point? It doesn't hurt anyone, why should you care? I get that you lean left and that means you feel some kind of pain when the government loses power to the people, but it's not a bad thing.
This ought to work well at the next mosque protest/draw Muhammad contest. At least everyone can protect themselves equally under the guidance of the new law.
Just because the vast, vast majority of people choose not to do something dangerous and stupid does not mean it should be legitimized.
