Wars for natural resources are going to heat up in a major way over the next few decades.

What I'm saying is the global economy allows for the free flow of goods

In the sixties the motto should have been

    Make money not war
    Instead of
    Make love not war

Make money not war is why the US has fought wars. Capitalism's win is humanity's loss. Unimpeded capitalism is a scourge.

What capitalist society have we fought a war with?

WWII was because of a ruthless fascist
ME excursions are because of people who refuse to move forward

If oil free flowed out that region there wouldn't be war

And now that we've gained energy indepence there will be less conflict as far as our involvement

If they got their crap together there wouldn't be conflict there

Our involvement in the ME was over resources but that's not why those conflicts exists

    They exist over stupid tribalism

The Iraq wars had nothing to do with anyone moving forward. Your post conflicts with itself.

There are a lot of places in the world where tribalism leads to conflict. That's not unique to the Middle East.

Corporations wag the dog. It's been decades in the making but you seem to feel it's for the better.

    I was just responding

I think we live in society where we continue to progress

Capitalism and democracy is part of that progression

There are definitely places that need to be drug along

I don't equate material gain with societal progress. Why do you?

It's not about gain it's about freedom organization and progress

You see capitalism where you want to see it and don't see it when it's inconvenient.

This. Can't really think of a war since WW2 that was necessary. But hindsight is always 20/20..... the Korean War being the one I'm undecided about. However, the rest of the televised wars were completely unnecessary.

I think capitalism is based in economics and economics is based in human psychology

It's more natural than just a system to distribute goods

Enforcement of our immigration laws makes us a nation state - it makes us unique. Even Bernie F-ing Sanders can see that.

As a goal to be worked toward in an orderly fashion in a relatively short time frame we should have open borders. Like other goals such as the elimination of slavery which might have seemed utopian at one time it should be aiming for it.

Without closed borders it is hard to continue many great evils. Horrible dictators will find they have no subjects. People will find it easier to avoid mass starvation by voting with their feet. A few billionaires and the corporations they control will find it more difficult to play the various countries of the world and their people against each other to lower wages, make profits from war etc. etc..
