Stumbled upon this piece from the NYT. Pretty much sums up how I feel about the Tea Party and talk-radio crackpots hijacking the conservative movement in America.
The clown show is both amusing and disturbing. Their latest debt-ceiling gimmick was to try to ban the Senate from filibustering. Amusingly, it couldn't even pass the House and had to be pulled. http://www.politico.com/story/2015/10/house-struggling-with-rsc-debt-limit-bill-215059 House leadership was considering a vote on the Terms of Credit Act Friday, but several GOP insiders said they will not put the bill on the floor. A Wednesday night whip check showed the party several dozen votes short, according to multiple sources familiar with the count.
