Man I'm sorry Manny - I never saw that there was any new posts after I posted last until now. Clyde^2 is the future, and I'm not giving him up, but I guess I could give up Baxter before I get attached to him too.
Okay Heath - Pudge and Spiezio for Lee, Lunsford, and Baxter? If that is okay with you, I will go ahead and post it - just let me know but I am leaving in about 10 minutes to go to class and won't be back until 5 hours later (if you want to get this in for the next sim).
My rebuilding plan is in phase I and Pudge and Mulder are already gone (although Mulder forced my hand). The next 2 (and final 2 for this season) are Phil Nevin and Mark Prior. Nevin is in the final year of his contract and although at 35, he still has good ratings. I would just want a younger 3B back for him (doesn't have to have Phil's ratings) but should be a decent player. As for Prior, I want a SP with a 7 in avoiding runs and a good young position player. I already have one offer for Mark that I think will be hard to top. I'm letting others know about now and will give you til the end of the night to make an offer for him before accepting the offer that I have received. I'll be in chat for the next 3 hours if you are interested.
Okay, I have a slew of starters in AAA. For those teams that are a little weak or shaky. The available players are as follows: 1) Paul Byrd - 35 year old veteran who was obtained in one of 2 trades from the Braves as salary relief. Has one year left after this one on his current 3.5 million dollar contract. Is a "5" in ERA and hits, but has decent stats so far. 2) Chad Qualls - 27 year old on minor league contract who has been an enigma. Has good ratings in everything except the fair i homers (good in avoiding hits, average in everything else except the homers with B duration). But for some weird reason, he has been stuck at "4" in ERA. That would probably go up if he was given the opportunity to start all the time in the majors, but he is in a crowded situation with my team. 3) Either John Rheinecker or Jose Mieses, but not both - Rheinecker has the better talent ratings even though he mysteriously dropped from a "6" in ERA to a "5" (this was from the beginning of the 2005 season to this one). Mieses has been the better overall performer, stat wise. Rheinecker is a lefty and 27 while Mieses is a righty and 26, both are on minor league contracts. Okay, so what would I want for these guys? Byrd could be had for a bag of baseballs. The others for decent position player prospects (no fair in hits though) that don't have to be top 100 prospects (even though that would definitely be welcomed) but a player that has the potential to become a starter on the ML level. Or I could trade these guys for a young 3B who might be in the majors now but not starting and is better than Dave Kelton. If you are interested, let me know.
I still have Chipper Jones available... absolutely a stud. 8-9-8 ratings. Great clutch performance, durable, good speed, can play third base... and he has at least four seasons left. I'd like to deal him for a younger stud at a corner outfield position or possibly 1B or C. If interested, let me know with an offer at SlamDuncan2121@aol.com.
Chuck - you need to sim games of the 30th and advance to the 31st for everyone to get all computer offers.
Okay, another post by me in this thread! Chuck said that the next sim won't be until Monday night, so I am going to throw this out. I have 11 SPs either in AAA or the majors right now. The only ones that are not going anywhere are Benson, Wainwright, Santana, and Baxter. But that leaves 7 SPs and that list includes: Freddy Garcia Matt Clement John Rheinecker Paul Byrd Chad Qualls John Ennis Matt Belisle My preference is to trade Freddy. I need either a very good infielder who can play 2B or one that can play 3B, but has 2B range. Once again, let me know if you are interested. BTW - I can include $5 million in cash to go with Freddy.
The Giants want a big bat to add some pop to their middle of the road offense, and have some pitching to spare. Available are Damian Moss, Ryan Jensen, Brian Hupp, Efren Gonzalez, etc. I can take on salary so if its thats a concern don't worry about it.
I'm putting Alfonzo and Koskie on the block with hopes of getting a good offer for one of them before the deadline. I don't have to trade either but I'd like to move one of them. If interested please make offers to my e-mail jphillips88@hotmail.com and maybe we can get something done today. As always I can include prospects in a deal if you like any.
Heath - If your could work a swap of Washburn for one of those young pitchers of yours...you wouldn't be 'm nsssssssssss n lfonzo. Drop me a line.
hey buck, Just a reminder, but I'd still like to get Jimerson... send me an email if you have any ideas. to everyone else, I still need help at basically every offensive position besides middle infield and centerfield. I am willing to trade one of my good young relievers (if interested, ask, one is on the Cubs) or my GAA prospect SS to get help. I will take bad contracts. also, for everyone that needs pitching help, Danny Graves is on the block. He's a starter, but he also has relief duration if you need him to pitch middle relief or something. He has a reasonable contract - about 5 mil a year for 3 more years - and his AR is 6, so he'll be a solid 3rd or 4th starter for most clubs. if interested, email me at SlamDuncan2121@aol.com - my needs are the same as above.
DV, Cat traded Chipper to me. I will always listen to offers, especially from you since we have done many deals in the past, but all I have to say is that it has to be an incredible deal because I have had my fill of trading for this season.
