I'm just pointing out that you could vote for him. After all you have been harping on Obama's misstatements about meaningless junk, and not saying a single word about McCain's misstatements on things that actually matter and a President should know, and could have an effect on relations with our allies, and negotiations with our enemies.

It wouldn't be out of the question for someone to guess you'd vote for McCain.

Waaaah! Waaaah! Want some cheese with that whine?

The grasping at straws is bad now. And it's going to be worse in October, when Obama has a twenty point lead on McCain in the polls. "The chickens"--of the Bush whitehouse---"are coming home to roost!"

So one of Obama's relatives served in World War Two and helped liberate a concentration camp.

If Obama had got the story right the first time, trust me you (and for that matter most of the jewish electorate) would have never heard or known about about this.

Makes you go mmmmhhhh, did he just pull a fast one on the GOP?

    ;)

    hmm, doubtful:

[rquoter]# Talk turns to politics. Where are we politically, asks Kara. What’s you assessment of the current situation. I think you have two candidates, says Murdoch, and they both have their problems. I think you have a unique situation today, where public opinion of the government and politics is at an all-time low. It’s abysmal, he says. And then here comes this candidate who positions himself as above it all. Murdoch seems to feel that the public will rally this year to elect Obama.

    # Walt asks if Obama can overcome the race issue. Murdoch believes he can. What about McCain? He’s been in Congress too long. He’s a friend, but he’s unpredictable. And he’s got a lot of problems.

    # So who are you backing? asks Kara. I’m not backing anyone, Murdoch says … “but I want to meet Obama. I want to know if he’s going to walk the walk. The educational system in the states is a disgrace. If he wins, Obama needs to address that.” He needs to deal with the teachers’ unions, Murdoch says.

    # Walt: Did you have anything to do with the New York Post’s endorsement of Obama? Murdoch deadpans: “Yeah.”[/rquoter]

The wingers have really been out doing themselves on Auschwitzgate. Now there harassing vets who served in the 89th and have set up a website to document their service in WWII.

Wingnut emails WWII vet and site owner:

Subject: Any Record Of Charles W Payne?

    Mr. Kitchell,

As you may have heard by now, Barack Obama has claimed that his great uncle Charlie Payne was a member of the 89th Div that liberated Buchenwald.

According to records his full name is either Charles W Payne or Charles T Payne (most likely the former), and he was born in 1924 — and he is still alive today.

He most likely was from Kansas at the time of enlistment.

Do you have any record of this gentleman?

    Thank you,

    Steve Gilbert

PS - If you go to my website, you will see that I was probably the first to note the error in Mr. Obama’s first claims about his “uncle.”

WWII vet and site owner replies:

Please crawl back under the rock you came out from.

    Good day

Raymond Kitchell, veteran 89th Inf Div

Wingers continue to harass WWII vet and site owner, prompting him to post on the site's home page:

    Introduction

Concerning the service of Mr. Charles Payne: C.T. Payne was a soldier in the 89th Infantry Division. He served in the 355th Infantry Regiment, Company K. The 355th Infantry Regiment was the unit to liberate Ohrdruf. Mr. Payne was there.

For those who seek to minimize the horrors of Ohrdruf since it was a 'work' camp and not a 'death' camp, we have but one word: shame. Ironically, this argument has been made to us time and time again by various Holocaust-deniers and other pro-Nazi groups. We will let the testimony of survivors and veterans speak for themselves.

It has been recorded that in Ordruf itself the last days were a slaughterhouse. We were shot at, beaten and molested. At every turn went on the destruction of the remaining inmates. Indiscriminant criminal behavior (like the murderers of Oklahoma City some days ago). Some days before the first Americans appeared at the gates of Ordruf, the last retreating Nazi guards managed to execute with hand pistols, literally emptying their last bullets on whomever they encountered leaving them bleeding to death as testified by an American of the 37th Tank Battalion Medical section, 10 a.m. April 4, 1945.

Today I'm privileged thanks to G-d and you gallant fighting men. I'm here to reminisce, and reflect, and experience instant recollections of those moments. Those horrible scenes and that special instance when an Allied soldier outstretched his arm to help me up became my re-entrance, my being re-invited into humanity and restoring my inalienable right to a dignified existence as a human being and as a Jew. Something, which was denied me from September 1939 to the day of liberation in 1945. I had no right to live and survived, out of 80 members of my family, the infernal ordeal of Auschwitz, Buchenwald, Ordruf, and its satellite camp Crawinkle and finally Theresinstadt Ghetto-Concentration Camp.

I recall the thread about it. I was referring to the upcoming general election.

When I saw the title and how long this thread was, I was like "Holy crap...what did he say...? I hope he didn't call concentration camp survivors bitter or something."

And then it turns out to be that he named the wrong camp that an old relative of his helped liberate...?

    Seriously? SERIOUSLY?

Well, of course. If you swallow every single bit of bad spin about every single candidate of course they're all going to look like crap. I really don't know what your politics are, but I know for sure you are the most gullible poster ever to have graced this forum.

Anybody whatsoever can present any negative thing, true or not, relevant or not, blown (way) out of proportion or not -- about anybody -- and you can be relied on to blow your stack and run with it.

    It really is amazing.

Bats, you've been slinging insults at Hillary supporters/voters quite a bit lately. This one is particularly personal and mean spirited.

LOL. You know as well as I do that RRNYC's no more of a Hillary supporter than you are. And I'm fairly certain he voted Bush in 00 and 04, though I could be wrong.

I know you love it when people believe the hype on everything from Obama's a Muslim Manchurian candidate to Obama's a crackhead, but the majority of us actually want to talk like grownups here. I'm sorry if that makes you feel left out. Just hang in there, George. Everybody grows up someday.

Actually I've mostly just been slinging insults at Bush -- interestingly, the bulk of which were backed up in the last couple days by his close friend and former press secretary. Some of his supporters get hit with some of them too, but it's not because they're his supporters; it's because they're dishonest debaters, trolls or just generally dickish. There are also supporters of Bush (and former supporters) whom I never insult -- those are the ones that don't fall into the above categories.

I so feel your pain and think you should abstain from further voting this year.

It would be the honorable thing to do.

All while keeping your integrity intact and sending a powerful message that may reverberate throughout the electorate.

the honorable thing to do is to keep questioning Obama who the world knows nothing about except for the speeches he makes and the bitter people he surrounds himself with. I've conceded that he will become the next president of the United States because of the damage GWB has done. BTW Batman, for the record I voted Nader in the last election. Unfortunately my candidate Bloomberg didn't run for President this time around. I'm not convinced Obama will do any better for this country other than make all you libs "feel better". We'll see how long that honeymoon lasts. So keep laughing at my posts because you Latte Liberal Intellectuals are the ones that are the gullible ones believing Obama is the great Savior of America.

Damn, a latte is coffee and milk! If you want to use coffee as a put down, at least use one of those fancy, twenty syllable Starbucks combos that only the most pretentious consumers buy. What do you drink, motor oil?

some people could be put in that bucket.
but i would venture to guess that more people in the mindset of
"who's less likely to fug up america even more"

and given mccain's 100% vote adherence to dubya...
    with hillary's well...uh... mathematically/probabilistically-eliminated-ness...

i think it should be a landslide obama victory, were it not for racism and smear tactics.
as for the "inexperience" claims: they are no more true for obama than for fdr, reagan, woody, and lincoln.
