Jesus. Does someone actually have to spell all this out? All right: The double standard is that those pictures and blog celebrate bad behavior. "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." THAT is the double standard. Not vandalism vs. violence. Not 'damn, women are crazy while men are completely normal,' but simply that someone is actually celebrating such bad behavior. In this instance alone, there is a rather significant difference in how men and women are treated. Understand now? And women do resort to violence: Lorena Bobbitt and that woman here in Houston who ran over her husband multiple times while their daughter was in the car with her come to mind....but that's not the point, either.
So, you're saying that particular blog presents a double standard? Why waste you're time making that statement? You could argue that this website is a double standard to other NBA teams. Of course, 'in this instance alone' it is a double standard but in everyday life it is not. Plenty of men get applauded for cheating (probably a blog on it somewhere) so lets not act like only women are given preferential treatment here. Everyone looks at this as wrong just like anything a man does in this situation.
Your schtick is getting old. It seems like you post something similar to this in every thread dealing with relationships.
He's not just talk about the website. There are tons of examples of that kinda stuff. Look at crappy movies like Waiting to Exhale. The show the lady burning the man's clothes like it's an awesome thing in the trailer. Now maybe he burnt her clothes first, but he probably just cheated or something.
Pfft, right this second. When I go home I'll be sure to put in my Deluxe Edition of WTE with the Whitney Houston commentary track.
Consider the materialistic women who only dates guys with fancy cars. I think she's vane about her bf's car, too, no? Maybe she attacks it so he can't use it to pick up other women like her.
I kind of believe in pride. I don't want someone who doesn't want me. If you think you can do better than me, and are conducting open auditions. Then don't let the door hit you in the keester on the way out. I don't need to beat up your new boyfriend, or scream at you to redeem my manhood. It was always there. If you commit violence on someone or their property because they cheated on you. You confirm they were too good for you in the first place.
This is the exact same way I think as well... If I get cheated on - well "that's the price of doing business" - it just means we weren't right for each other. good bye and good luck - i'll find someone else. i see no need to exact revenge at all... life is too short to hold grudges over silly things like cheating... of course - the caveat being this is all for situations OUTSIDE of marriage - cheating in a marriage brings on a whole host of other issues - like asset division, children, etc.
Can't we all just enjoy the sight of a few pick-axes sticking out of a Volvo? It didn't happen to ME, so it's hilarious.
Yes. That's what I'm saying. Because we're discussing it in this thread? And because there have been several people intimating (and others still flat-out stating) that such behavior is justified? Seems pretty relevant to me. Um....okay. That's the point. No one is talking about whether cheating is wrong. It is. What is being discussed is whether this particular reaction to being cheated on, in this case it is thousands upon thousands of dollars in property damage, probably reaching into felony destruction of property territory, is wrong, and also whether society somehow allowing for a scorned woman to behave in such a manner is wrong. I most certainly believe that it is. No one deserves that reaction any more than someone deserves to get hit when the only wrong committed is cheating.
Doesn't insurance cover that damage to a car? I wouldn't be that upset if I got a pick ax through my car, knowing I was able to have relations with more than one girl.
First it's an ax through your hood, then the burning of your crib, and finally the severing of your penis. Don't you guys see? If you don't nip it in the bud they'll step all over you and your prized possesions.
I say break up with the person if you are going to cheat on them. Save everybody the trouble. Why continue to be with someone if you are going to cheat on them with another person? It doesn't make any sense.
Understandable. Any threat of physical assault generally doesn't make someone comfortable... There also is the Person to Woman: "What would you do if you ever caught your man cheating on you" Woman: I'd, HMmmm...*does the "snip-snip" scissor gesture with hand. wry grin on her face* Person: "Aaah, dang" *high five each other*... Like THAT won't make a guy worry any?
