I say congrats to Bogut. It doesn't matter how bad Yao performed in his 1st game. How he plays now and how he will play in the future is what counts. In fact, if he becomes one of the greatest center, that 1st game will make it so much sweeter because we can say what a long way he has come. :)

You guys are taking this too seriously. I was just having fun with Yao not scoring in his first game. Remember when people bashed Yao as a complete bust after the first few games? Now he's half of our franchise.

It was still funny that he couldn't score in his first game though.

still, the "high post count=higher authoritay" concept is pretty immature in itself. It's like looking to your school name or the price of your suits to legit to yourself that you are better than someone else.

If you have to reach to these areas to make yourself feel superior, I see that as a weak form of retreat.

LOL, retreat from what? From arguing with "Stupid thread. Totally garbage. Yao will be a great player, while Bogut will be a good player."???

If I argue with something like that, I might just as well wrestle with my sofa. If someone takes a cheap shot at you, do you go out and spend time explaining why he shouldn't take that shot? What do you do? You put him back to where he belongs.

BTW, this thread is for entertainment purposes (if not others, then myself) only, there is no need to get angry and argue with me why Yao will be a better than Bogut. You are preaching to the choir. Maybe someone here should start arguing with me why water is wet.

I hate to point out but aren't we overratting the league and even basketball a little bit?

I mean, basketball is like the #15 sport in China...

no you're wrong. Goto China, you don't see kids wearing soccer jerseys or ping pong jerseys. They're wearing Rockets jerseys (bootlegged of course). Juding by yao's reception last year during the preseason, I'd say he's a tad higher than #15. And every single ad has Yao in it, i cannot stress this enough, there is a billboard with this man's face almost every single place in China.

I don't think so. I hear that B-ball is at least 2nd in popularity over there, behind soccer.

Um, go to China and you see a HELLUVA lot more kids wearing soccer jerseys than basketball. And the reason they don't wear ping pong jerseys is because there are NONE available for sale.

Call the Bucks now. Offer them Yao for Bogut. I think they will at least ponder on it.

wow, ease up fellas. I'm sure yao doesn't care, but I know I wouldn't want to be known as the ONLY one that has their name attached to something like that. With that said, if he continues what he did after the foul trouble last night, on man, he could have a "breakout" season...that's already tough to gauge since his numbers are already more than solid.

    Kwame Brown
    Kenyon Martin
    Michael Olawakandi
    Joe Smith
    Larry Johnson
    Pervis Ellison
    Danny Manning
    Brad Daugherty
    Derrick Coleman

I wouldn't trade a 2nd round pick for any of them (well maybe DC). Yet, they all scored a point in their first game after being drafted No. 1.

    Yao must really suck. ;)
