I think they’d want it far more than Clint Capela, 34 yo PJ, and some Rockets picks

not sure how any GM could justify giving up a player like AD and getting Capela as your main piece in return...Capela isn’t an Oladipo or even Demar Derozan...there’s at least the potential that comes with the 3rd pick or a Tatum that u can sell to your fanbase...ain’t nobody buying Capela

    I fully respect the OP.
He could write such a long essay on the premise of a joke trade. You really have talent.

But please stop creating threads. There is a the random trade idea for all that.

I hear what you are saying, but 3 additional future 1st round picks aren't nothing. And people love PJ around here, but once you try to trade him they say he's nothing, old and crap. I would tend to disagree a bit. Whatever NO gets, they aren't contending for at least 3 years if not longer or ever. Big men, more than anything in the draft, tend to not pan out. So you know what you get in Capela, and he is still improving. But I still hear you.

I know that Harden is our franchise player and an MVP, but you people act like the rest of our roster is straight trash, compared to other teams that haven't done JACK in years either. LeBron DOMINATED the east for a decade, comes to the West and can't even make the playoffs. 'm not giving those teams in the East players too much credit over our own flawed players as well. Most of them are too unless they are a true superstar. Some of the players being mentioned didn't even make the allstar team in the East, but yet they have way more value than a Capela, Tucker and 3 1st round pick package, from the only team to really challenge the Warriors dynasty. ( And would have beaten them in the last 2 years if games weren't stolen).

Tatum is only 21 and showed more promise in last year’s playoffs than Capela ever has, and a wing player with potential is more valuable than an athletic big with low skill getting paid 18 mil/yr, and like I said, no GM is taking Capela over the 3rd overall pick

If Capela was in the East and not playing with Harden, what would he have done? Nothing. Harden creates like 80% of his offense.

the Knicks can offer better picks, so can the Celtics...CF always overvaluing our picks

I never stated that we have the best picks or that other teams can't offer more. My assumption is that I don't think that they will. So I don't see our offer as a bad package when you look at it in totality. That's just my opinion. While AD is a great player, he still hasn't done jack squat in the league as far as the playoffs are concerned. He needs a number 1 guy to pair with. So we will have to see what the Knicks and Celtics are willing to give up to get AD on a potential rental. Boston may be losing Irving, and then have to contend with the Bucks and Raptors if they keep Kawhi. Knicks have to get KD and someone else if not Irving, and then KD is the last piece for them to contend immediately.

We will see what happens and what he is actually traded for, if NO even trades him. I'm sure Morey is still kicking those tires anyway. I personally don't think it's a bad trade for NO. Capela, Tucker, Zion, Jrue and a decent roster after that can make the playoffs in the west next year. For NO, that's better than most years.

That's not the only way we could win a championship next year. We could also win one by trading Clark, Hartenstein and a dish from a Landry's restaurant for Giannis, Kawhi and Steph.

By the way, I think my trade is just as likely to happen as yours

You really value dishes from Landry's way too high.

...get CP3 to agree to a restructured contract. Ditto Harden. Bring in Kevin Love and JJ Redick (like I've begged for every summer for over a decade now). Is Troy Daniels available for vet min? And we better hope Capela and Hartenstein improve over the summer.

This guy judging by his account name is above 33. And he’s this immature. Saying shut up to someone online. Some people, just never learn their manners.

Yeah but we can’t get butler unless it’s through trade right? Plus I think EG/PJ is a done deal as far as who has the package to offer up. I don’t want to give up Tucker anymore than you or anyone but to get a legit 2nd fiddle who can replace Gordon’s offense AND Tucker’s defense I feel like that should be a done deal for us as well...plus moving Gordon open so up enough shots for that 3rd star. Harden CP and butler could all get 20+ shots a night easily

Oh. Well. We're screwed. It seemed like Duncan or Ginobili or someone in the Spurs had restructured just a few years ago, but maybe I'm confabulating.

    AD for Harden.
KD for anyone or everyone else. Force KD to declare any previous rings null and void and swear that he has been the NBA's biggest ____ in history.
    That should do it.
