If the Rockets want respect, they are going to have to pry it out of the media's hands, and that means they have to win a Championship. Only then will ESPN grudgingly give them a nod.

This is how I rank em in the West.

    Thunder
    Spurs
    Rockets
    Everyone else.

I think the Spurs at 5th is ridiculous. They should clearly be 2nd IMO.

I love the Rockets and believe in this team but we still have alot to prove. We have alot of glaring what if's, a hole at pf and we definitely need to work on perimiter D so that Howard doesn't get foul issues like Yao did. We also need to see which Howard shows up and how Omer asik plays. The Spurs should definitely be higher and deserve more respect. I see why a non bias fan would rank us there. I'm sure come mid season the rankings will change and Chris paul will want out pf Clipperland.

Actually they had us only winning like 5 more games even with Harden. We were still consider bottom dwellers even with Harden.

Congratulations to Daryl Morey for landing Dwight Howard and James Harden within the space of 10 months. Now, what are you going to do about Jeremy Lin? Put him on the bench again in the playoffs and let Patrick Beverly and Harden handle the playmaking chores? This team has four great starters. You need five.

Think PF is a bigger concern and who has more than 3 great starters anyway.

    4. Houston Rockets: The Rockets landed the big fish in Dwight Howard, and a low-key Houston environment and the presence of a young star in James Harden should make the 27-year-old center's transition back to being the offensive force/defensive menace he was in Orlando easier. But the Rockets still have a glaring hole at power forward (a Howard-Omer Asik frontcourt is a pipe dream) and a point guard (Jeremy Lin) whom many scouts consider to be more of a backup. It's doubtful that freewheeling general manager Daryl Morey is done dealing, and if he can flip Asik for an experienced stretch-power-forward type, the Rockets could easily climb up the standings.

you know I bet you we could work a trade of Asik/Jones for Bosh. Not saying that is solve all but I just have a feeling miami would do that.

May want a draft pick or something but just thinking
