For crude, you can turn it off or keep it on. It doesn't matter that much because the refining takes place before the selling of oil. So all the oil that's possible to refine would already go up to the next level, and you'd have extra crude sitting there. If you turn it on, you'll sell the extra crude, otherwise it'll just stay there until your maximums change. My advice is to keep crude at sell and the rest like this: 2 refineries: Yes Crude No Kerosene Yes Heating Oil 3 refineries: Yes Crude No Kerosene No Heating Oil Yes Gasoline 4 refineries: Yes Crude No Kerosene No Heating Oil No Gasoline Yes Jet fuel The most important part of this whole exchange is to keep upgrading your storage tank. That's because you need twice incoming oil room for 2 refineries, 3 times for 3 refineries and so on. That's the part that will most likely cause you to waste oil if you're not careful. Good luck.
Whoa. I just realized how powerful Chinooks are at stealing. One unit can steal about $100,000 (or 1000bbl) all by itself. It's an air unit so it's harder to kill, and the fuel costs are way, way cheaper than Humvees because it uses crude oil and because 1 Chinook steals as much as 3 Humvees so it's exponentially cheaper the more units you have. Too bad it costs GC. But you can just keep your head up on GC deals in the marketplace. Or if you've already donated, Chinooks are a fabulous investment if stealing is a part of your game.
If you have time could you look at my area and see what you would suggest I add. I need to maximize money so I can get my military rolling.
Yeah. I was posting on how to mark the "sell" option on your storage tank. You don't sell kerosene for the exact reason you listed.
Am I getting carried away with buildings??? I have 46... ...most of them are upgraded quite high as well...but I only own 4 black hawks and 4 super cobras. I think I just have too much money coming in...every hour I make about 4.5 million with my stadium, resort, shopping centers, and major distribution set up... ...what should I be spending money on?
Well it's probably about time to upgrade your military. Buy a stack of black hawks. Maybe go even bigger with jets. Pump out a couple hundred marines, or go for an army of tanks. You'll probably want to build a few military bases and airstrips just to get the extra population slots. It costs GC, but getting a few Chinooks means that you can volume-steal from pretty much anyone on the map. Or you can go for the big kahuna and save up for that nuke silo. The most feared weapon in the entire game. Just remember, no matter how big you get there's someone out there that's going to be bigger. So you really can never stop upgrading.
True I guess...but should I try centralizing on one element...or just go big and spread my power out (ground, missiles, air)?
Looks like one of the top cartels attacked Cable and raped him. Specter_Za of More Secreter Cartel really did a number on our leader... Amount Stolen: 6,402 Bbl Crude Oil 6,370 Bbl Kerosene 5,417 Bbl Heating Oil 6,444 Bbl Gasoline 1,205 Bbl Jet Fuel I've posted more in the Cartel Messages
strange. the result says 5/5 of the attacking black hawks died compared to only 8/75 of cable's rebels. so shouldn't that be an unsuccessful attack? And i think i finally figured out why i'm progressing so slowly....i have neglected to upgrade my storage and distribution centers while building more and more pumps and refineries.
Well after getting my ass beat down today, I'd say go for air superiority because you can really do a number on somebody with a decent airforce.
BTW the attack on the Dark Soldiers is still on. Sunday at 3pm est (2pm Houston). No point in going after the guy that beat me down. Him and his cartel is too strong for us (although if I'm not otherwise engaged, I'll have some nukes with his name on it at the end of the round). Oh and try to build up your air forces if you have the money. Black Hawks, and Chinooks if you can spare the GC. That guy really opened my eyes to how weak air defense is in this game.
I have an important announcement, but I want it on the top of the next page, instead of buried here, so here's a filler post.
Important Notice We are about 24 hours until D-Day. If you're no longer playing this game, please let us know. This will allow us to clean out your money and drop you from the group so the enemy has less targets to retaliate on. Everyone else that wants to attack should try to build up to one of these components: 1. Frontline Ground forces: With at least 100 infantry and/or Marines if you can afford to upgrade. Most of you should at least be able to do this. 2. Advanced Ground forces: Humvees to steal with some infantry or marines as cover. 3. Mega-Advanced Ground forces: Tanks and cover. If you can make tanks, then make tanks. These guys should be monsters. 4. Air division (Helicopters): With many Black Hawks (and some Chinooks if you can afford it for stealing). 5. Air division (Jets): If you can afford and have time to make 10-15 stealth bombers with A-10 backup, then go for it. I don't expect anyone to have the time or money, but just in case. 6. Missiles/WMD: I'm not going to ask anybody to embargo themselves by using one of these, and quite frankly, I don't think we're going to need it. This cartel isn't that strong. But if we start getting reprisals from their allies, we might need some WMD's to fight back. Put a bit of cash into this if you can afford it. If you can't afford to do any of this, then I suggest that you concentrate on your defense as much as possible. Infantry would be your best bet at low levels so try to get your military base up and start cranking these guys out. Check in for the attack with be in the cartel chat room: http://oilempires.itch.com/chat.cfm?defaultToClan=1 On Sunday at 3pm est (2pm Houston time). When you check in, please me message me at: http://oilempires.itch.com/sendMessage.cfm?toName=m_cable and give me a list of what force you can attack with. Make sure to list it by installation. Such as: Thanks and good luck, Go Clutchfans! Go Rockets!
