Can anyone make some good recommendations on online PC games? I'm going to start staying home on the weekends for a few months & save up some money for a major purchase and I need something to occupy my time. I have a powerful PC with high speed internet. Don't have an xbox, ps3 or anything like that & don't plan on buying one. I want something new and fresh, not something like world of warcraft. Thx
I take it that you don't want to play an MMO then? The two I play are City of Heroes and EVE Online. CoH is really fun, easy to pick up, and the character customizer is awesome. It's easy to create a character that is completely unique. You can get a free trial on mmorpg.com EVE Online is a hardcore sci-fi space game. You need to be pretty dedicated to have fun in it. Which is why I'll probably drop it soon. But you can also get a free trial on mmorpg.com Some free browser-based strategy games are Oil Empires and Strategy Arena Online. Like I said, they are free, but if you want to 'donate' you can get extra perks in each. I'm not a FPS fan, so I cant recommend anything there, but I'm sure someone will chime in.

How about Civilization 4. Great addictive game with online multiplayer. Yeah Ziggy, I tried to log on to play online, and I had to download the new patch. But with the new patch installed, I can't run the game anymore. I think my comp. has a virus.
Team Fortress 2 has me addicted. Look for "THE ORANGE BOX" as the name of the game.
