One year later: Battier or Gay?

    I think if we hadn't won a game against the nugs late in the season we would have been able to draft Roy free and easy.

    Can't really evaluate this fully for another 2-3 years. That is about the window of time Battier will remain at his current play level barring injuries, and about the amount of time that is fair to allow Gay to develope.

    The bigger problem is that Battier is our 3rd best player and unlikely to improve any more. If he was our 5th or 6th best player it would have been a great trade. As it is, only time will tell.

    Ideally we need Battier and a solid upgrade at power forward and PG. Unfortunately it doesn't look like our salaries will allow that given cap restraints.
