carries the team to where? he still has an all star forward, serviceable beasley etc. and his team is barely a 500 team, compare to kobe's lakers couple years ago when luke walton was like 3rd best player on the team and lakers still did decent in a competitive west. wade is a good player, but shouldn't be in the same class as kb, lbj or chris paul even

Yea I wouldn't mind Wade on the team. He is a winner, a triple double threat and approaching his peak. He can take over point duties.

How can the answer be anything but LeBron James. He's arguably the best player in the NBA right now ( Kobe) and he's improving. He went from playing no defense to being a leading candidate for DPOY. The guy can play three positions, need I really go on. You hold a draft and every GM takes LBJ first without even thinking about it

Probably because I think there's so many good guards out there that the difference between championship and first round exit will be decided by a good center such as D. Howard.

Well, as much as I like D12, he's no LeBron. Not even close actually. LBJ could play 4 positions literally. He played 5 for USA. There's nothing like him in the NBA. D12 still has yet to develop a repitoire of post moves. That dissapoints me , because i believe he can. LBJ just keeps getting better and better. The funny thing is, i don't like LeBron at all. He's not quite in my KG category, but he's close

i love wade but you gotta be smart if you're gonna sign a player to a max deal. d.wade has a history of injuries. you may like what you see now, but down the line, you might be stuck with a max guy who cant play a season (arenas anyone?)

lbj on the other hand, has been injury free. and at that size, it's amazing. if i am not able to get him, id go with dwight howard first before going to d.wade. it's hard to find a dominant big nowadays. basically, all you have on that discussion is dwight, shaq and probably yao (in that order). oden isnt even on that list.

wade would only be my third option after lbj and howard.

Anybody who doesn't say Lebron has got to be kidding himself. It's not even worth discussing. Did I mention Lebron is only 23/24 yrs old? He'll only be in his 30's (around Kobe's age right now) when Dwade is already retiring, and yet he's better than Dwade in virtually every aspect of the game.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add after LBJ I'd have Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Brandon Roy and then only Dwade. The thing is when building a team from scratch scorers like Wade probably won't help your team out as much as you'd expect. Wade has Marion and Beasley they are still one of the worse teams in the East. Same thing with Kobe before PJ came back. When starting out you really want a Franchise center, or a franchis playmaker to elevate the rest of your teammates rather than an elite closer or finisher

LBJ is not a guard, he's a power forward with guard skills. He's a freak of nature, I doubt the NBA will produce another physical specimen like him ever.

Lebron is just insane. He's having Hakeem-like effects on games from the three spot.

LeBron by a mile. LeBron is the most gifted player the NBA has ever seen. He has PG skills, and is freaking huge. Watching him play against the Celtics, LeBron seemed to make everyone look small. I think he may have been the strongest player out there. His team has the 2nd best record in the NBA right now(only one W behind LA), and he doesn't have a great supporting cast.

Lebron is my choice. He isn't as talented as Kobe but he makes his teammates better because he is a natural passer. His defense has improved a lot as well and his outside shot has gotten better as well. He is young, strong, tall and is doing everything needed to win. He wants to become a champion.

    Wade is my No. 1.
He is not a play maker but he is a ring maker.

The problem is you're comparing their top 3-4 players. The Lakers had a lot more depth and talent, 1-12, than the Heat do right now.

Could you imagine the rockets with having D wade instead of Alston as starting Point Guard. :p

Except the Cavs have done far more in the playoffs with LeBron James and not much talent around him than the Magic have done with Dwight Howard.

There are a lot of good guards last year, but no one that really brings the entire package like LeBron does.

I think I'd put Chris Paul ahead of Dwight Howard also.
