Ditto with Charles. He's walking(more like a drunken stagger) and seems happy now(probably just glad to be with my mother), so my parents have decided not to have him put to sleep yet. Hopefully he won't have anymore episodes, but I know it's inevitable he will. Thanks again, everyone. DC- 16?! Wow, she's older than some posters here. She's led a long, fruitful life if that's any concilation. I've had another dog since I was nine(Charles was originally my stepfather's so we didn't meet until '94) and can totally sympathize with how you feel. Sig- Thanks. Good to see you're still around, man.
good thing you didn't take MY advice... I hope I didn't come across as harsh in that post... I'm glad your dog is improving.
antisonic. i wish the best to you and your dog. it's tough to go through. my dog was said to be dying with liver problems, but she seems to be doing fine...really though, good luck with yours.
Yeah my parents dogs are getting really old. Its hard to see your little friends like that. Im an only child, so when I didnt have friends over they were my friends. I have two golden retrievers and a good memory I have of the older one which had 10 puppies and 1 of those puppies is the other dog... but anyways a good memory from her is when my friends came over they would all love to yell squirl really loud and Haley would run outside and jump off the deck and litterally jump like 7 ft in the air or more. everyone loved it she was very athletic at that age. Francis has nothing on her... he he but anyways pets are great, its one of the things that makes life so great. so just do what you can and give the pup treats and stuff.
Man I am really sorry to hear that. My condolences. My dog as well is on his way out it appears, I hope he can make it through the winter.
Very sorry to hear about Charles, AntiSonic. Take Care and God Bless. Rainbow Bridge Author unknown Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...
