It's not bigoted to take care of the poverty in your own country first. I didn't say don't help other nations.

It's a start. Maybe Zuckerberg and Bezos can donate the cars and clothes and all 4 can offer them jobs and training.

Right... it's a lot more complicated of an effort than simply buying a bunch of houses.

This thread is proof that having TDS is the main cause of diminishing one’s IQs.

Kinda like saying why give government money or aid to people who lose their homes in tornadoes or hurricanes, especially if they couldn't afford insurance to begin with. Or, why help anyone who can't afford college or healthcare. Need is need. Sure, it takes a whole lot more than just houses. Our country needs a lot more money going to education, social services, and affordable healthcare. There is a reason so many are in dire straights while billionaires and rich corporations get buttloads of benefits like property tax breaks for moving to states like Texas.

Not kinda like that at all.

Your original post was that ONE MAN could save all the homeless in America. It was clearly something you didn't think through.

The exact same thing as the OP could be accomplished if everyone that voted for Biden donated $1,380 to the same cause. It would have the added advantage that you are not destroying major American companies and stealing from a guy. Isn't it worth it to you guys to end homelessness when it will only cost you $1,380? Why aren't you doing this. Contact your Biden voting friends. Have them contact their friends. Created a donation website and an escrow account. You don't have to rely on stealing, you can all just pitch in and accomplish your goals. Be the change you want to see in the world.

What? The sacrifice of $1300+ is a greater than the sacrifice of that money from Musk.

That is especially true if married couples both voted for Biden.

Of course, it is always easier to give away other people's money.

Except it's way more complicated than that. I believe a majority of homeless people have mental health issues as well. Most shelters and other key services are generally centrally located. Unless you plan to buy these people premium housing, you're likely moving them away from the services and support systems they need to survive and moving them away from whatever community and life they have built. Sticking a homeless person in a house will often make their situation *worse* than it was before because often being homeless is not their key problem. It's trying to solve a round hole problem with a square peg.

Obviously for many others, it would work brilliantly - especially people who are short-term homeless/etc. But that generally is a small portion of the total current homeless population (especially in a thriving economy).

The OP is not trying to steal from anybody because he was asking if you would voluntarily do it if you were in Musk's position. And Musk selling all his stock wouldn't destroy a company - it would just cause Tesla stock to go down, but as long as Tesla is not selling more stock to raise capital, it shouldn't affect their operations.

That said, this is as dumb as all the people who say "if you want higher taxes, why don't you just pay more yourself?" The misguided point of the OP is to use the collective mass wealth to solve a problem that's larger than what regular individuals or charitable organizations can solve due to sheer size. If you believe 'homes for everyone' is the solution, Musk is in a unique position to be able to logistically accomplish that in a way that you and all your friends can't. The more relevant question to ask for your version of this is "would you donate $1380 to end homeless if we could guarantee everyone else in America (or Biden voters or whatever) would join you and raise the money to do it?" Then the answer might be "yes" for a lot more people here.

You are ridiculous. You just had to make this about Democrats and Biden didn't you? I was simply talking about one man with 297 billion dollars, and asking if you would do it if you could still live as a billionaire the rest of your life.

    Even in Compton !

What the majority of the D&D doesn’t know is there is this thing called taxes that pays for programs to help
But these programs do nothing to solve the problem

Throwing money on it doesn’t solve the problem
Ask former nba player Delonte West
