Seventeen years. How can it be that long? In some ways, it seems like yesterday to me, the memories so vivid. In other ways, it happened during another age altogether, when a giant strode the court, and all feared him. When the perfect coach for that team always seemed to have the perfect thing to say. God, how I miss them. All of them, from both championship teams.

Man, that was one of the best times in my life as far as partying with friends and just going nuts cheering. We always believed, but I remember when we really started believing. The Rockets were unstoppable -- epic all time sports fan adrenaline rush. Watching Hakeem and Drex finally get that championship together was pure awesome.

You're right. After they came back from 3-1 against Phoenix, matchups and predictions from the "experts" didn't matter any more to me. No one was going to beat that team over a 7 game series the way they were rolling.

That was almost 20 years ago. I'm tired of living in the past with this team.

People need to understand who Rudy T was directing that speech to for the most part, he was staring at Bob Costas the whole time and took a big steaming pile of dump on his east coast bias Jordan jocking face that never gave credit to the Rockets' titles.

I don't even know who Bob Costas is. Is he like a Charles Barkely type of Rockets hater, except a journalist?
