Rebuilds take time. We would still be looking at a high lottery pick next year even if we were drafting Cade or Mobley.
Very unlikely that Rockets will have top 3 pick 3 consecutive seasons even if Rockets are the absolute worst teams each season. There comes a time that the team must show success, even if incremental. Rockets can also improve via FA and trade.
I agree. I just don’t think we should go straight into win now mode after one draft. We need as much young talent as possible. Don’t want to rush things and end up in 9th seed purgatory.

The Lakers were able to get the #2 overall pick 3 consecutive years, and I believe Philly was able to get #3, #3, #1, #1 in four consecutive years. Looking back at it, the Lakers actually did not do too bad considering how difficult it is to get a star player even when drafting high. They actually ended up picking 1 super star player in Ingram, and D-Lo was a 2019 All-Star before being injured, Lonzo has improved at everything in the past year as well. Philly on the other hand really blew it. They managed to get one player that is of use after a half decade of tanking.
Great article, who knows what future holds. Not just on draft day but a few years from now. Opportunity abounds.
