And another inane Lin thread. Any thought about making a Lin section being made where all the Lin fan boys can go circle jerk in?
Lin hardly move because McHale told him to stay at the corner and watch and wait. Take the 3 when Harden or Parsons failed to score as the clock is about to run out. That is not an opinion, its fact.
Bull****, lin doesn't spend most of his time in the corner and no coach is gonna restrict a player from making smart cuts.
You are extremely naive you even argue about it. Any high school player knows about making cut. Given the work ethic nature of Lin, he is too lazy to make cut?? Wake up!
Guess you did you watch any of the Rockets games. More than once when the TV camera man had the camera closed to the huddle and captured the play being draw up on the white broad, Lin's position was at the right hand corner after he brought up the ball and handed to Harden.
Your already wrapped up in a delusion, it's ok. And it takes far more than just "effort" to make a cut, Lin improved in moving without the ball through out the year however. But thinking making cuts is all about effort rather than an actual basketball skill conforms the biggest problem with most LOFs, they just don't know basketball.
Your guess would be wrong. Just because you saw a few plays drawn up were Lin was in the corner doesn't make it a "fact" that it was what he was always told to do. If you had actually watched Rockets games you would realize that. Stop making excuses
You and I can make cut, its about effort. The skill is about making the right cut; the correct time, the correct angle, the correct lane, to the correct space...etc. The point was when poster pointed out Lin "was hardly moving" and blamed him for it and not the offensive set, thats where their point fail.
Your point fails again because the rockets offensive sets give the players a ton of freedom. There were very few plays where guys were assigned to be in x spot. The rockets played a free styling offense. I know it's hard for LOFs to admit Lin had problems with being passive far too often last year and struggles playing without the ball and just blame McHale for those struggles but it's simply not true.
u people have a hard time understanding some things..do you know what an "average PPG" is? so do u understand that some of the best PG like russell westbrook, derrick rose, tony parker, will score at will against their opponents? they are "stars, all-stars" for a reason. d wade lit up harden last season..gordon hayward and paul george lit up chander parsons. so calm that "lin is a bad defender stuff down." if stars couldn't score like they could every game they wouldn't be a "star." btw beverley ain't shut no PG down last season.
Jeez, a ball dominant pg has to play off the ball all of a sudden and struggles. Who would of thunk. To end up shooting near or over 40% from 3 for the last 3 months of the season, you'd think he'd get one genuine compliment or an iota of credit from you guys. Lin was passive last year, because it was an unnatural role for him but he picked it up near the end. I hope he continues to get better at it. And you're wrong about Lin standing around not moving. You're completely and probably quantifiably wrong though I don't want to bother looking over last years games again with pen and paper. PGs cut the least out of all positions by nature. Ths is true in every level of basketball as the shortest guy on the team is generally not the best target. It's also not the sg. As most sg camp around the perimeter. And guess what, Beverley and Harden stood around just like Lin if not more. You just didn't see it, cuz that's what cognitive bias is. See how often other pgs cut. The most active pg off the ball today is Curry. That's partly because most of the plays are designed around freeing up the 1&2 spots through a myriad of picks. Our team doesn't set up for Lin other than off he curl when harden gets stuck or when Lin gets the ball early and brings it up like a true point. Does struggles off the ball mean "shooting 40% from 3 for months at a time, always bein there on the break and in the mix" cuz I don't see where he's struggled other than to learn his role on the team. And just in case you misheard, was he passive at times last year? Hell yeah he was no question. The question is do you really think Lin wanted to be passive? No. When the coaches tell you to get the ball to Harden and to not make the Homerun play, I don't know what the hell more you want from the kid to stop lookin down on him. Should he have shot 50% and averaged 20 pts a game?
They're all Lin threads. Topics that aren't even about Lin eventually become about him. Everyone wants a piece; fans, haters, knick trolls, Dragic nuthuggers etc etc.
you realize im an LOF and not a rox fan(not a fan of any nba team, no team close by where i grew up) right? u realize i think Lin has alot of talent and overall think he had a good year. but i can also admit that hes an average to slightly above average pg currently and struggles in certain areas. relax i just took offense to the "mchale tells him not to cut" bs
