Thanks for the info, what. This board is a better place when we have viewpoints from opposing fans like yourself, MemphisX, Nugs4, etc. Hopefully you stick around and are active here. Best of luck making the playoffs, Shane will undoubtedly help.
Lol...we got ya'll. Good luck with Thabeet but only way he develops is if you plan on firing RA. No way any coach would embaras himself by giving him big minutes with any alternative.
This is how I see it. Thabeet doesn't have much upside but could end up a serviceable backup C. We'll see. Now that he is a Rocket, I hope he explodes and exceeds everyone's expectations. He has this summer and all of next season to get better. Will be shocked if the Rockets exercise their team option next summer. Close to zero chance IMO. Grizzlies need to let Lionel Hollins go, but you can't blame Hollins for Thabeet's complete lack of talent and basketball skills. You can't turn lemons into champaign and he is a lemon if there ever was one.
Not sure you can teach rebounding. That Thabeet is so bad at it is very discouraging for his chances in the NBA. Another 7 footer who can't beat out Chuck Hayes for minutes (love ya, Chuck). I'll take the middling draft pick, but if you're 7'3" and can't rebound, you suck.
Uh I would agree that he is a scrub but you geniuses gave up the overall *second* pick to get him! Bahahahahahaaa
Hasheem and Hill on the court at the same time will be absolutely hilarious. over/under 3 times they run into each other setting a pick for Lowry?
Oh yeah, and me and Memphis X know each other well. He probably doesn't know who I am on that other board. But we have had it out a time or two. For the guy who said let Hollins go, that would be a bad move. This team, minus Mayo, respects hollins and that's half the battle.
He's not very good...I don't think anyone will argue with that...but I remember him giving us a little trouble inside when we played against him. That might help a bit. Otherwise I'm not expecting too much from the guy, he's just one of those fellas that don't seem to have the mindset to match his physical gifts.
Hopefully the combo of Sikma/Hakeem working with him could turn him into a good (not great) player. The trouble will be getting adelman to play him!
This was all part of Morey's plan. While they were eating at the Aquarium a few years back they talked about Thabeet being the next big thing in Houston, so Hasheem tanked for this short period and now it is time for him to shine. *A man can dream right? I'm okay with us getting him. The Grizzlies drafted him as a project and if i'm correct projects do not usually become studs over night. He has averaged around 10 minutes a game his whole career. I hope he sees the court for 15 a game or so for the rest of the season. The Houston BIG 3.... Thabeet, TWill and J Hill .... move over Miami.
