Stopped at rest area just south of Hillsboro. So far looking very promising with partly cloudy skies but the whole disk of the sun is easily visible.

What time do I need to be outside

Getting caught indoors during the Rapture might hurt . . .

Keeping my fingers crossed but it looks like might luck out on the weather where I’m at. This rest stop is filling up. Interesting to see some people with some really heavy duty cameras and telescopes.

I feel inadequate just having plastic eclipse glasses.

In 2017 I had rigged up a pinhole viewer out of a yogurt container

ow's the weather in the central Texas area (specifically in the path of totality, like Gatesvill)? Any visibility? or is it all cloud cover?

Apparently this festival is now cancelled due to potential for severe weather. You chose correctly.

It’s looking really good near Hillsboro. Got a good view of the eclipse with the sun already a fat crescent

I bought a set of Mega Quest AI eclipse smart goggles and honestly they do nothing.

I'm in Killeen and it is partly cloudy. Sun peaks out for a half-minute at a time. Not too shabby.

I'm in the path of totality (northside of San Antonio) and it's total cloud coverage right now. I feel bad for all the people who travelled for this.

Debatable. It wasn’t just for the eclipse, there was amazing music, art and speakers as well as crazy hippy **** for the entire fest. Plus they’re letting people stay for the eclipse as long as they’re packed and ready to go right after.

Had a great time in Big Sky so far. Decided that skiing/snowboarding isn’t really for me. Looking back I like simple prep sports. Too much gearing up for the payoff for me. I suppose if I stuck with it I could get more out of it but I don’t like it enough to commit. Still, great seeing and hanging out with coworkers. Found the locals bar and hung out there a lot.

I saw people outside couldn't even locate the sun because it was so cloudy in the heights/downtown area. But the clouds moved away right when it happened. Good timing.

Had spotty cloud cover. Saw the total eclipse...very light cloud cover on total eclipse...visibility good.
