35% from three. Guess he's here to take Garcia's spot. Shoot some occasional 3's and add some size, although he's not much of a rebounder.

I can't look through all 20 pages (I'm on my phone), but if it hasn't been mentioned, Casspi was a lights out corner three shooter in 2010/2011, and Morey covets that shot.

Shot chart spoiler'd due to size...

His other seasons were lower, but still around 38-40% from the corners. I'm willing to bet that's a big reason why he's a Rocket.

How is he going to be on the Rockets and play with Jose Calderon who is now on the Mavs?

Francisco and Calderon were rumored to be on their way here. Only one made it though. Probably just missed out on info among all the threads going on.

Personally, I am ok with this move now since it really isnt costing the Rockets much. If he works out, great. If not, Rockets will dump him shortly and move on.

Some of you need to temper your expectations though. He has been in the league for a couple of years now and hasnt exactly lit it up. If you are going to say its because his confidence issues, you have to ask yourself if you really want someone like him on a team that has high aspirations. No one is going to hold his hands in a tough playoff series. The guy will be asked to make shots under pressure.

And the person who compared him to Peja, please, just pray he doesnt become him. Peja is one of the biggest choke artists in the history of the NBA. The guy shrunk when it came to crunch time.

If you are pragmatic, then based on the sample size, you will bet that he is probably not going to amount to much. But as a Rockets fan, you are hoping that the opposite is the case. Keep in mind though that the later has a lower chance of happening.

After this offseason's success I trust our FO completely. If they believe that this guy can contribute then he can contribute.

Garcia sat on the bench for most of the second half then came up big in the playoff push. While cisco may be a tad better at shooting Casspi's game is similar. I'm excited to see him on the court!

That's pretty hard to do, considering we just re-signed Garcia.

I will preface this by saying that I'm at least a little biased about Casspi, as I've been a member of the Houston Jewish community my entire life and have waited a long time to have a Jewish player on the Rockets. But as most of you know, I tend to be fairly good about casting aside my own biases to objectively examine things:

Those upset about the Casspi signing: What are you complaining about???

Casspi signed for the veteran's minimum salary. The Rockets have a team option on Year 2. They literally could not have paid him less. He only counts $884,293 against the cap next year. If he's bad, they cut ties with him. No big loss. If he plays well, the Rockets can pick up their option and have him the following season for the league minimum (only counting $915,243 against the cap).

    What's the downside here???

Think he meant Garcia's old role, which was backup to Delfino which is now occupied by Garcia... unless Delfino comes back, then we will have 4 long forwards that can rain it in from downtown.
