the casspi-only fans actually come across as quite endearing as REEKO mentioned, omri's ceiling is probably a chance at sixth man of the year.......which is not a bad thing at all
Well, lets be honest for a second. If(-IF-) Omri can maintain his presesaon current ability, throughout the year (You know what - even just close). Followed with 35-40 minutes of playing time... so he is a 30P/12R Legend - by means. right?! Now, that would be such a Caspiella story. I would name it as - Caspiella-Cinderella cyndrom But why are we here, if not for the fantasy, that sometimes becomes a reality. Omri Casspi preseason games, reminded us why he was a contender for the Rookie of the year in Sactown. and if not for Tyreke Evans, that as a point guard, took all the shots for himself, but led Sactown to nowhere good, so who knows... Omri Casspi, like other europeans, may succeed well, just with an intelligent team. Both Sactown and cleveland, were built of individual plays. The Houston rockets holds much higher basketball IQ, players here play for each other, in a matter to win, as a unit, not as individuals. in that kind of an atmosphere, potencials might have be fulfilled and Cinderella stories, of individuals and more important, as a team, might have be created. Never say never - always say ever !
And what's the connection of the Rabi to my post?! If Omri Casspi was a culturally christian born player (even though christ, like Casspi himself, was an Israeli-Jewish fella) so you would have post a priest photo? a pope photo? I don't see it, either funny, or rational(with all due respect) OC, is an Israeli... you don't talk about one, like he is christian, muslim, budahist or a Jew, but you refer to his nationality. and OC is an Israeli.
Granted I said Casspi wouldn't even sniff the court before the preseason, but I think it's safe to say Casspi won't make the all-star team. Though, if he continues to play the way he has been playing, he would be the second biggest bargain in the NBA next to Parsons.
I'm Jewish... it was a joke at your opinion that he has all-star potential. He's going to be a backup 3 and a situational 4. He's not going to get big minutes and will hopefully continue to knock down that 3 pointer and fight for rebounds. He's going to struggle against non-stretch 4s (Duncan, West, Millsap, Randolph, Aldridge, etc) and you'll see Jones and Dmo out there instead.
I think the best contender for the 6th man role in our team is Jeremy Lin. Asik is playing at 4 with twin towers
Why is that so? I talked about preseason stats(and hustle plays) and if he can maintian that(or even get close to it) If he will - than i'm right(drugs or not). If he won't - he would "just" be a good starting lineup player (or rotational player). Are you a Houston Rocket? so i guess you want he will. He surely holds the potencial and proved it on court. would he(and the whole team) maintian that? Time would tell the story i guess
Yeah I don't see it. If we're lucky he'll keep playing well enough to be a strong bench player 20+ minutes per game at the 3 and 4 spots. Nothing about him suggests "all star" though.
Where would he get 30 minutes OP. LOL McHale already stated that Asik will be getting 30+ minutes a game. Parson and Howard will log 35+ minutes a game. Garcia will log 15-20 minutes a game. You can best believe Casspi will log 10-20 minutes a game. But hey you said IF..bwhahahahaha Like a few poster already stated, lets wait until we play at least 20-30 games before making that statement.
COFs, UNITE! I will bear thy burden as the king of COFs. And when the infidels tear us down I will shoulder the cross. Fear not! LOFs, y'all are invited too. How they gonna stop us now? They scared!
