Radical Islamists typically do not have a problem with Jews, its really against Jewish Israelis

    This.

I am Turkish and this thread could be the dumbest one in ClutchFans.

Even the ones in the video that were yelling "death to israel" and forced an Israeli team out of the arena?

I don't doubt for a second that Omar Asik and Omri Casspi would not be the best of friends in the team. I seriously doubt that very many of the example sportmen listed above would have refused to compete if they were free to do so. Representing their countries they simply have no choice. If both of them are coming from the bench, I even expect this duo to make a significant impact. Take my word for it.

ILookOK is the same guy claiming Les emailed him.. Also he is a Royce White defender and suggested we leave him alone. Now he is trying to stir up racial tensions. Can someone ban hammer this guy?

    1. Les emails all Rocket Insiders
    2. Royce White has a mental disability and I believe that people are insensitive towards these types of disabilities
    3. I am not stirring up racial tensions, I am just suggesting that Omer may face pressure from back home based on what is going on.

Dude, who gives a crap about RADICAL anything, they shouldn't be our concern. The entire country of Turkey is not radical and neither is Omer. Quit it.

I'm not sure I understand the hatred for the OP. He's simply raising a question. He's not implying that Omer will have a problem playing with Omri....he's simply wondering if Omer MIGHT have a problem. To the people that are saying anyone under the age of 28 doesn't care, or that it's stupid to think that people think of such things, please watch the global news every once in a while. You'll be shocked to see the kinds of things that are happening across the world....especially things that YOUNG people are involved in. The cultural and social differences that occur in that region of the world have deep-rooted meaning to the people in that area, and they are willing to "protect" their heritage and beliefs from anything and everything....whether that means they have to sacrifice quality of life, money, or even their own lives.

Personally, I DON'T think Omer is bothered by the fact that Casspi is on this team, but I'm also not naive enough to think that he isn't at least AWARE of the fact that Casspi is an Israeli Jew, and the ramifications that might have back at home for him.

The answer is no, DOUBT it becomes a problem. Because omri and omer dont seem to be radicals or rabble rousers in the least wearing it on their sleaves

The point is a fair one. But omers frustration has nothing to do with omri. Thats where its reaching

Asik is not from Iran, Kuwait, Egypt or Tunisia, so none of those links matter. And the one article about Turkey is about fear of pro-Palestinian demonstrators (very different from radical Islamists, as you seem to suggest Turks are) would try to disrupt the event.

I am not suggesting your thread is dumb, I'm saying it. You're making a baseless argument inspired by idiotic generalizations.

And if you're going to suggest such a ridiculous argument, how about you research at least a little bit before you do.

Like for example how Haim Revivo, possibly Israel's most famous soccer player, played in Turkey for three years (and none other than for Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray, the two biggest clubs in the country):
Revivo: "I Moved To Galatasaray Because I Love Turkey"
Not only that, Google his name and about half of the pictures that come up are of him playing in Turkey. And you think Turks are gonna stop rooting for Asik for being on the same team as an Israeli player?

It's not a matter saying politics and sports don't mix. It's that baseless blanket generalizations are dangerous, and you're throwing quite a few there.

Sure, but whose the radical here? Have u ever been to turkey? What makes you think they would care besides a couple links you posted of countries that have nothing to do with turkey. That alone shows how effing ignorant you are.

Lets say he even came from a "radical islamist country", you think they really care about scrub omri effin caspi? If he was somewhat known, maybe. Do u think Hamdi (the Iranian who played for the griz) got hated for posing in a friendly picture with him? No.

I get your point, but countries are not radical, people are radical.

Basing it on countries paints the whole population with that brush, which isn't fair.

Mavi Marmara... good intentions, bad result. They were talking about doing this humanitarian gesture back in 2008 when I was in Istanbul. I did not think it would work because they spoke about doing this non-violent protest/action but they spoke about it in such a resentful way that I'm sure tempers flared instead of staying calm.
