    Aaand the tour is cancelled.

I saw Jane's Addiction (minus Dave Navarro) open for Smashing Pumpkins a few years ago and both bands were disappointing.

I saw them in their current tour in LA. They were good and didn't brawl with each other that show.

But the real winner was Love and Rockets. Their show and music were better. It's sad that people won't get to see Love and Rockets play again.

I wish the tour could have gone on with Love and Rockets moving to the headliner slot.

This is going to ruin the tour.

perry put out an apology where he seemed to be blaming others for his outburst. he said "my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior". coupled with his wifes post from a few days ago looks like he is playing up the "band was too loud" angle instead of taking accountability for his own awful, drunken, lyric-forgetting, cant-sing performance.

i think he knew he was sucking so he went off like this knowing it would end the tour and he could blame others.

theres a message on the other dudes instagram pages that announces the break-up and its signed dave, eric and steve...so those 3 are clearly on the same page. janes is dead, but i hope they keep working together in some capacity.

Is Perry in control of the legal - business entity that is Jane's Addiction or is control equally divided?

im guessing perry owns the name "janes addiction" and has control over the business side. they cant go out with a different singer. i know he has always gotten 62.5% of royalties while the other 3 only get 12.5% each. perry has always been a greedy a**hole.

Before even asking these questions, I will give a nod to there being issues with this Path.

    Could Perry
    • Get rid of the others?
    • Bring in replacements?
    • Use the name Jane's Addiction for a reformulated band?
If he is able to accomplish the above, would many people be interested or has he trashed things so badly that there isn't anything left to save?

    Perry's addiction

This beef has definitely been an ongoing issue.

They supposedly threw punches backstage too.

I wish I hadn't peeked behind the curtain. I want to hold on to the feelings I had when first listening to Ritual way back when. I didn't know anything about the band...and wish I had kept it that way.

    Formative years partially ruined.

And now at my age, I can only laugh at these morons (Perry and the other immatures in the world) that have money printing machines and choose to throw it all away. Just figure out how to get along. Life is too short.

Regardless of his miser ways, he’d be pretty difficult to replace in the scenario the others wanted to recoup some losses and move on without him.

he’s a unique front man and that squealing voice is a signature for sure.

would be interested if you had any people you thought could fill in. And don’t say Sammy Hagar. David Lee Roth, however; would be totally acceptable

janes without perry would be like zeppelin w/out plant or stones w/out mick. it would be stupid. plus legally they couldnt do it w/out him.

im not advocating for the other three to continue the band w/out him...like i said, janes is dead, but id love to see those 3 keep working together...a brand new band with another singer and/or more musicians or just as a trio...eric and dave both sang on deconstruction. i like erics lyrics too - very beat-poet inspired.
