    Welllll crap.

Just have to hope he'll get healthy sometime this year. Feels like it's been a long time since he's played for us.

The part in bold could change as the trade deadline approaches.

    Thats...disappointing.

I am afraid he won't put in his best effort.

Its a huge concern no doubt. However, as unhappy as he might be, his play this year and next will determine his next contract. So if he wants to make bank in 2015, he does have to play hard and well.

However, if he does come back healthy soon, and is able to put this behind him, the Rockets will really turn a corner as their bench will really look 10% better with him manning the paint.

Lets hope Omer can do the right thing both for the Rockets and for himself. He's really the difference maker for the team this year one way or the other. He can both sink this team, and life it out of the sludge pit of this funk the team seems to be in.

Sorry, this says nada and, to me, is a worthless use of e-ink.

GM's have leaked b.s. lesser than this, you know.

Morey to starving unpaid intern: "And make sure it says, 'Contending teams are trying to steal him'."

Intern: "Gee, Mr. Morey, do you think this will work?"

Morey: "If this doesn't dislodge whatever's constipating the other GM's, nothing will. Now here's $200. Don't tell anyone about this, got it?"

On Minnesota KFAN Sports Radio they are reporting there is some talk about a possible three team trade that would bring Asik to Minnesota and Nikola Peckovic to the Rockets.

he is worth more next year as an expiring contract, either to teams looking to clear space at the end of the season or to teams who need to make the minimum roster salary. for example, the jazz took on bad contracts because they needed to raise their roster salary to the minimum, and the sixers will have to do the same before the year ends.

once we signed dwight and asik requested a trade, teams knew they could low ball. DM tried getting fair value for asik since but to no avail. right now his value is at an all time low. next year he will have value as an expiring contract. it won't be fair value for how well he plays, but it won't be a robbery like bass/lee.

That would be huge. I doubt Minny does it without the Rockets including a few other players/picks

it was a rumor (can't remember the source) where asik went to the wolves, pek to the pellicans, and anderson to the rockets. all 3 bigs would be a better fit next to the all star bigs already on the team. this rumor was just an imagined one by its creator on twitter.

I think David Thorpe of ESPN and Jerry Zgoda, beat reporter of Minneapolis Star Tribune, both mentioned a 3 way deal involving Asik and Pekovic as an idea-- but ONLY as an IDEA rather than a rumor-- at one point.

Each of these guys said that he thinks such a deal would make sense but they were clear that they are not reporting anything as being actually discussed.

I think the idea is to have Asik go to Minnesota, Pekovic go to New Orleans (or some other team), and someone Houston wants, like Ryan Anderson, go to Houston. From Minnesota's perspective, the issue is whether they just don't have enough rim protection with their frontline of Pekovic/Love/Dante Cunningham.

To the extent that there is a team out there that want a C but prefers Pekovic to Asik (for offense, or concern over the balloon payment), it could work. Still, don't expect anything to happen until close to the deadline. Teams are in "wait and see" mode right now.

A healthy Asik would actually help the Wolves more than Pek because he blocks and alters shots. Right now the lane inside is WIDE OPEN in Minnesota.

When you have PG that is the worst shooter in 35 years, a PF that actually gives up position to pad his rebounding stats and a center that provides NOTHING defensively, you will struggle.

As someone mentioned before, no matter how frustrated Asik has been, the rational thing for him to do is to play as hard and as well as possible, especially as it comes closer and closer to his free agency. It would just be financially unwise for him to tank his value.

I will say, as far as ideas go, and if Omer is actually more-toward healthy (but is being kept away from the team; I will be looking for him on the bench tonight), it doesn't suck. Minnie needs better D, Pekovic next to Unibrow would work, and Anderson would kill for us (with Tjones backing up the 5 and 4).

But, yeah, with the exception of Rudy Gay to Sacramento, few deals happen before the 11th hour.

The question I have of this Minny/NOLA trade proposal is if Minnesota believes that Asik is an upgrade from Pekovic than why wouldn't NOLA believe that Asik isn't an upgrade from what they have already (which is nobody) & Pekovic and trade directly for him there in NOLA?

If NOLA had a hard time being convinced to give up Anderson for Asik, I'm not sure why they would be convinced to give up Anderson for Pekovic who is a similar center that will not provide spacing for Davis, doesn't give you any more defensive help than Asik, and comes at a much, much higher pricetag of 5 years 60 million.

IMO, the smart thing for NOLA to do would be to just trade for Asik straight up who does everything they are needing other than space the floor for Davis when they go small.

IMO it seemed like Thorpe got it in his head that Asik would be a great fit next to Kevin Love, and tried to rationalize trade scenarios that could make that deal rational. Its a hard one to accomplish because any 3rd team taking Pekovic will probably very well prefer Asik to Pekovic because of the finances, and the fact that the rim protection probably weighs heavier in the needs of most GM's when it comes to centers anyways even though Pekovic is a much better low post finisher and scorer.

Maybe they think Pekovic's style of play is a better fit for their team than Asik.

Flip Saunders is on KFAN and he is shooting down the rumor of an Asik trade.

The trade to me that Houston is probably most likely to make is probably Asik & filler(maybe D-Mo) for Okafor and draft pick/s.

Houston get a solid backup center that can help in the meantime and assets for a future deal.

Phoenix becomes a much better team defensively, and gets a solid center they can rely on for the future.

Phoenix would essentially be getting Asik for a first round pick... thats a very, very good deal for Phoenix, and Phoenix could have up to SIX!!!!!! first round picks in the next two years.

IMO this is a much better trade partner to work with than Boston's crap deal proposed. It just seems to me that Morey most likely did not want to deal in the Western conference at any cost, and must have thought much more highly of Lee and Bass than we do.
