Still more than Asik. It's certainly closer than Bryant, but Dirk also isn't getting paid the max. He purposely took a smaller contract just to help the Mavs.

Long story short, Asik's per minute pay based on last season's play time with his new contract's salary is still not a superstar level of pay per minute. It's highly likely that Asik sees an increase in minutes anyways, and the comparison is ridiculous.

Anyway I'm wrong about putting dream as a comparison, but to be honest, if you look around scouting reports and bulls forum, many have said Asik is having trouble to sustain his performance in longer min... And as our current roster, offence isn't really a priority concern for him.

How much was Yao paid per minute for his last 2 seasons? I bet it's in the hundred thousands.

nope. based on last season's salary and season minutes. dirk made over 9k per minute. Still more than Asik's minutes last season on this contract's salary.

Can you stop making these comparisons? They don't work, and they'll very likely work even less because Asik will see increased minutes.

Regarding Asik having decreased production compared to his current per 36 minute numbers over a larger amount of time, it's certainly possible. He could still be worth his salary even at lower per 36 minute numbers considering the premium on centers in the league.

In any case, you should post any proof of scouting reports you have or have seen that claim Asik absolutely cannot sustain his performance in increased minutes. Too many people on this board just make up facts and it continuously gets spread around by people who read it. Just being vague and saying that there are plenty of "scouting reports" in existence that back up this claim sounds like ESPN level of "multiple sources".

You may be right, but don't pass things off as fact without evidence.

Certainly people on a bulls forum will be talking the guy down to try and soften the blow of losing him

LOL I think Yao injury wasn't expected, but Asik is certainly demanded to played more than 14 min.

Yes he was paid as 9k per min if you don't count the game that he missed. If the Asik missed game also being taken out, Asik will be paid more.

Well, I really like adding Asik to out roster. I'm just saying suggesting improving his conditioning is more important than adding offensive skill sets.

Yea ok you win ..if he is in poor shape, than of course conditioning is important .. Hopefully the guy has enough dedication(and gratitude for the 25mil) to show up to camp in the best shape of his life.

Asik will be getting far more minutes in the coming season, so he will have incentive to improve, especially on offense. I doubt he will be satisfied with standing around in the half court looking useless. So he should improve a bit.

As long as he can still lead the league in offense of rebounds and run the floor and most importantly set hard non moving screens.

    I've seen worse posts.

You guys have high standards. Look in the mirror. Most of you sat there thinking long and hard what that first post was going to be and whether everyone was going to like you, because of your own insecurity. Now you get a few under your belt and you feel better than the guy.

Just welcome him to the board, let him settle in and THEN beat the h*ll out of him. Lord...

Hakeem to teach the bigs how to move.

Yao to teach the bigs how to shoot free throws.

You need to be training with your Englishing OP.

Asik just needs to be Asik when the season starts. I'm not really expecting the sky with this dude. He just needs to get the rebounds and block (or at least threaten to) block shots and I will be contented with that.

Yao and Hakeem are the last people you want to work with Asik. Those guys are skilled big men. Asik just need to learn to catch the ball and very basic big man moves. No fakes, spins, fade aways.

Dawson and a tennis ball machine would do for the next 3 years.
