I hope not. We should get a more impactful piece for someone like Asik. Lot of teams will want him, especially considering how many bad centers are out there.

Yeah Anderson is a good shooter and can space the floor but so can Matt ****in Bonner and you dont see him get too much playing time in the playoffs.

Once the defense zeroes in on him in the playoffs he is not going to give you much of anything else.

We need physically and mentally tough minded players who can contribute in other ways when they are not scoring.

Is that even possible? I could dig it! Not sure we'd be solid at the 1, but we'd manage. Damn, I'd miss both Jeremy and Omer. I'd still like to keep them both, but we need that third piece. A 4 that matters. A difference maker. Could have one on the bench, but I want to contend this coming season, and we don't know how the young 4's we have left will develop, not yet. Surely getting both isn't a serious possibility.

What's wrong with building a team of shooters around Dwight? It was good enough to get them to the finals.

    Bonner's lifetime PER:14.0
    Anderson's lifetime PER: 18.1

    They are not comparable players.

As a Orlando native that has seen they Ryan/Dwight tandem, i can say first hand it will be super effective. The Rockets won't turn into the Magic cause the magic never had a James harden or parsons.

We need interior and wing Defense at PF. I wouldn't cry over this trade although I think we could get a much better player than Anderson,

At all. Actually embarrassing for someone to even bring them up in the same sentence really. Anderson led the league in 3's in '11-12 and was 2nd last year, trailing only Steph Curry. Remind me again how that's like Matt Bonner? I'll wait.

Rockets smart to grab Anderson, who played so well off of Dwight in Orlando . . .

The ATL Millsap signing actually would make me think a S&T for Smith ISNT going to happen. That locks Horford in to the 5, Millsap to the 4, where does Asik fit? Unless its Lin, filler/picks instead of Asik. This day does just keep getting better...could be.

Destined to be Howard's side kick.

I'm hoping for a deal for Smith. The only thing is that Smith has to take a deal slightly below market to come here because I don't see us giving more than Asik for him.

He's definitely not returning to the Hawks, so what is there to lose in trading him for Asik.

This^. I would be alright with it, but Asik is worth more than Anderson. Would rather Asik for Anderson + a pick than Asik + Lin for Smith.

Rockets can be better than that, way better.

Rockets have two superstars and good core group of young guns.

Really? We just settle for the Finals appearance?

would we even want Austin Rivers as part of the deal for Anderson? They have glut of guards with ego, evans and meeks.

I don't know much about rivers game can he shoot?

I think he would fit in well offensively, but lack of D and rebounding from the 4 concerns me.

No to Rivers. He is redundant to many of our guys. Send a first rounder and we will discuss a deal around Anderson

This sorta seems like a Big 3 vs. Big 2 + excellent support argument to me. Howard/Harden/Smith sounds good, but what is the cost? And we already have Parsons, so I put him as a .5 giving us a Big 2.5 already. But if we can get a guy like Anderson who will fit like a glove and compliment Howard and our retooled offense, and STILL have $$ left over to get some quality people to put around that Big 2.5 - I like those odds better than going the Big 3 route and having trouble finding really quality people to fill the roster out with.

Has Calderon agreed to a deal with the Mavs yet, or was it just discussions, BTW? Anybody know? I'd be very interested in adding him if he's still available.
