I can understand his disappointment at losing his starting job, and I liked his effort in the playoffs. He wanted to win, but his overall attitude was very unprofessional and he sulked almost all year long. I hope he will do well with the Pelicans, but not against us.
Thanks for solid play when you were healthy these past 2 years. I get that you wanted to be a starter with guaranteed play time, it's the same thing Lin wanted. While Lin got close to starter minutes, you were truly only a backup once we got Howard. I will remember you for being unflappable and consistent in both the good parts and bad. Great defense. Solid screens. Stepping up with the free throws when OKC started hacking you in the playoffs. That was a memorable moment, when even Samuel L. Jackson tweeted that he lost some respect for OKC. I enjoyed your crazy ballet layups. I hope you found the greener pastures you hoped for in NO.

Omer, Jason smith Davis, Anderson That's a hell of a front court. Omer fits like a glove with Davis and Ryan Anderson.
Great hardworking guy that provided 85% of what Howard puts on the table @ a fraction of the cost. There's still some things Asik does better than Howard. Heck Splitter is a better offensive player than Howard. Why is D. Howard $22million a year? Overrated POS mofo...
You replace Asik with Howard on the 09 Magic team, do you really believe they get all the way to the finals?
Must have been a misquote. The Rockets organization and it's stars don't say nice things about role players. They are a mean franchise and free agents don't even consider Houston anymore.
Next year he will be paid roughly 75% of Howard and I'd say he gives you about 25-50% of Howard's impact.
In actual dollars paid, Asik will make about 65% of what Howard makes and his impact is about 67% of Howard using adjusted +/- stats.
Oh alright, well if you go by EWA then Asik gives you about 5 extra wins in 2013 compared to Dwight's 13 or so in 2014, so by THAT metric, it's about 38% of Howard's value
He should have just known his roll and came off the bench. Man, rockets had a really good team... wasted..
