dude this happens at almost every olympics it just totally makes me cringe..

i guess i've been desensitized by gun violence in movies but i can handle seeing a guy get shot repeatedly over seeing something like this makes my stomach turn

whats even worse are that these people train day in and day out for years to make it to this level and then to have this happen to them to crush their dreams and make all that effort they put pretty much go to waste. its hard to see him being able to make it back any time soon to liftin an olympic competition again.

They should make them lift, like, less heavy things. Awards should be made on style points, not on total amount lifted. I mean, duh. This sport needs major overhaul.

Haven't you been paying attention? Every single minutia of the Olympics has to be scrutinized as a reflection of the Chinese.

because every single minutia of the Olympics is being scrutinized by everyone watching.

But that particular act isn't about the Chinese trying to protect anyone, it's simply the compassionate thing to do.

I don't remember everyone reading so much into everything that happened in Greece...much less as commentary on the Greek culture or people.

I agree. I've never cared too much about the issue one way or another, but most of the coverage reeks of just criticizing China all they can. Suppose that's for another thread though...
