Not necessarily, but the international game is different from the NBA's style. Adelman's motion offense plays nearer to the international game, which I think is why Scola and Andersen pick up the concept of team offense well. There is more reliance on the 3-point shot; different rules such as defensive zone allowed; less physical inside; etc. That's why there have been U.S. national squads composed of NBA stars who have been defeated in the past by European and Latin American teams.
I would LOVE to see your reaction if this was Tracy we were talking about and not Von. You really need to learn to look at things objectively.
LOL. Oh well. I liked you, Von, I really did. But you can't keep your act together when it matters. And C-Bud is proving to be better than you.
Nachbar played in Europe's D-League last year, not the Euroleague. He averages 9 points in the actual Euroleague. Jennings averaged 6 a game in Euroleague not 16. Pargo averaged 3 a game in Euroleague. If you think any 4 year NBA player averaged double figures in Euroleague, you are delusional. Even Childress did not average double figures last year.
Amen to that my friend. Maybe he thinks that just because he's from the NBA he can just walk over the coaching staff over there.
He is having a hard time planting and pushing off the hay - he is not wearing proper cleats and is a step slow as a result. Silly Von.
Well, I always suspected whether Von's game would translate to the Euroleagues. Now it's pretty clear that it doesn't.
I TOLD YOU SO. He's not been playing well since he went there and I now I heard he was getting benched because of it.
Meh, I am right about Von, and right about Tracy. It is tough being right all the time, such a burden. DD
Incorrect, you read the per-40 min. stats on DraftExpress. Jennings actually only averaged 7.6 PPG in Euroleague play. Simply staying on an NBA roster for four years doesn't mean you can waltz over and be a Euroleague allstar. It isn't the CBA. The level of competition is higher than many realize, and the style of play differs significantly. Some skillsets translate, some don't. And being a completely one-dimensional ball stopper like Wafer doesn't lend itself well to the more team oriented style of play there.
I'm so happy with myself, I predicted he would really struggle in Europe when I heard he was leaving. I wish I could be bothered pulling up the thread I said it in. I also predicted JT was garbage and T-Mac would surprise people when he came back, 2/3 things are correct so far. Let's hope Morey and Adelman see the light and play him sooner rather than later.
I was wrong about Jennings. Apparently, some experience makes all the difference, because NBA scrubs routinely go over there and score 10+ pts. I feel that if NBA scrubs like Trajan Langdon(13-14 ppg), Will Bynum(10-11 ppg), Marcus Haislip(13 ppg), Alan Anderson (13 ppg) can contribute 10-15 ppg, then a player has to really stink it up or have no expereince with pro ball to not contribute.
