I am the all-time world champion in Contra. I have gone through that game in one life, getting no weapon powerups except for rapid fire. I honestly think there is no better Contra player in the world. [IMG]

Other old school games that kick butt:

    Mega Man series
    Double Dragon 1 & 2
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
    Faxanadu (underrated!)
    Bionic Commando
    Castlevania series
    Baseball Stars
    River City Ransom

Does anyone out there remember the original King's Quest. I remember as a kid sitting down at my first computer (Tandy-1000, 8088 processor) pulling my hair out trying to solve that game -- it was so hard. I never did finish it.. couldn't figure out what to say/do to the king after you get the three treasures. ...Oh, memories.

Leisure Suit Larry. I was something like 12 when I first saw the game. They said it was for 18 and over and had a test of contemporary history to test you and make sure you were old enough. It'd take a couple of tries but I'd always manage to get in. I wonder if the game was actually good or if I just liked it because I was 12.

Visit one of the emulation sites (I listed a few above), download the necessary emulator, then search (using Yahoo, excite, whatever) for the appropriate ROM. www.romsdepot.com is a good place to start.

When I think of Contra I think...
"Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right A B Start"

I used that code for 30(?) lives ALL OF THE TIME. I LOVE Contra!

Also when I first saw this topic the game that came to mind was Tecmo Bowl. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who wore out the NES playing this game. The Bears were unstoppable with Walter Payton except when you faced the Giants and LT. Damn I miss my NES.

Another game I loved was Dodge Ball. Sam was by far the best DodgeBaller in that game. [IMG]
