Sorry about that. If you go to Ticketmaster, there is a blank you can choose to instantly join the RS fan club and buy tickets immediately. And with that BBS moniker, you NEED to go to the show!
Hell no! I'm not going to drop $150 to see guys in their mid-60's doing the funky chicken to Satisfaction. I still like the Stones, The Who, The Beatles(McCartney), Pink Floyd, Clapton, Eagles and Aerosmith's music I just don't want to see them, especially when their tickets costs so much, on their umpteenth reunion/farewell tours. I would rather save my entertainment dollars for getting good seats the next time the Rox come to town.
I hear ya! When I was buying the tickets this morning, I had a flashback to when I saw the Stones, along with ZZ Top and the Fabulous Thunderbirds, at the Astrodome in 1981. I remembered being outraged at the ticket price back then....Seventeen dollars and fifty cents!
I don't see it like that. There are a lot of bands out there who put on great concerts, but there are few bands left from the arena rock days who can just flat out knock you on your ass. The Rolling Stones are one of those bands. I was there in '03 at Reliant and SBC, and I'm glad to be going again. You can't put a price on seeing one of the greatest rock bands EVER. FWIW- Mick is probably in better shape than 90% of the cf.net population, the guy is a health freak.
He runs 6 miles a day. I'm just happy that I get to see them, regardless of their age, in a place smaller than the Astrodome. The only other time I saw them was in 1989, on the Steel Wheels tour, at the freaking LA Coliseum, which holds 100,000. Guns -n- Roses opened for them.
Good luck on Saturday. I was the second batch in line (tickets actually were sold yesterday) and I bought two, best available, and they were pretty crappy. Section 417, Row 7. At least I'm right in the middle of the stage.
Maybe we have made a match! Then we can get Clutch and Jeff to build the CCNet Dating Service website.....
Old Fogey here I love the Stones, but will not pay that much to see them. Have never seen them live. I can buy all their concert DVD's for the price of one ticket. I have a DVD from the Steel Wheels tour, it is awesome. They were all full of energy. Saw the Bridges of Babylon DVD and they looked old with not much energy, other than Mick. "Keef" is still the best damn rythym guitar player in the world, bar none.
The Stones never had much energy other than Mick but he has enough for all of them and the 16,000 people at the TC. If you've never seen them, they kick azz. They are Live Rock and Roll. I'd love to be there but I wouldn't pony up three hundred bucks for the privilege. In my opionion the world has gone insane in what people are willing to pay for entertainment.
Haha. Don't know where that came from pasox. But, ummm, sure, if you are good lookin' and have bikini pics, I moonlight as a professional picture viewer.
Gotta disagree with the " never had much energy" statement. "Keef" and Ronny Wood used to be all over the stage while playing guitars. On The Bridges to Babylon DVD they pretty much stand still except when they cross the bridge to a little stage in the middle of the crowd. As for the prices of concerts, I couldn't agree more. I saw Bob Dylan a few years ago, front row seats, for $47.
I'm probably considered an "old fogey" on this board, but I wouldn't drop a turd to see The Stones. Just not my bag of tea.
