    Curly,

In true GARM fashion, I just have to say that (while I didn't actually read your post) I couldn't disagree more. ;)

    Sincerely,
    Random GARM Poster

The anatomy of a BBS argument:

    1. Someone starts a new thread saying something crazy/stupid/inflammatory, etc.
    2. Someone posts a mocking response.
    3. Someone posts a joke about the thread.
    4. Someone posts IBTL.
    5. Argument ensues for several pages.
    6. The YOF, ROF, race or not-a-fan card is played.
    7. Argument continues.
    8. Someone posts a "can't we just get along" response.
    9. A new thread is started mocking the last thread.
    10. Someone posts IBTL in that thread.
    11. Thread is locked.
    12. Poster of second thread starts a thread in the Feedback Forum complaining that he is being treated unfairly.
    13. Someone in the original thread - usually the person who started it - claims dramatically that this board is just too much for him and says it is time to leave.
    14. Several posters tell poster not to leave.
    15. Someone posts a doctored photo of JVG with the word NOOOOOOO! on it.
    16. Someone posts another "can't we all just get along" response
    17. A new thread is created discussing how ridiculous the other threads are.
    18. New thread gets 5 stars.
    19. Original poster sighs and agrees to stay to help keep the board "real."
    20. Clutch and crew make fun of the whole debacle.

    Rinse. Repeat.

    You forgot a couple...

    21. Clutch or crew write a rational post about etiquette and criticize the offending parties
    22. Offending parties grovel, everyone else sucks up
    23. Things quiet down for a few days, everything back to normal in Clutch nation.

    DUDE

Jeff just called Curly's thread stupid/inflammatory...

On a serious note though... You'll quickly become familiar with the direction of threads from the title... Over time, if you're not able to spot what you consider a relevant discussion and what you don't, then the blame is on you...

Jeff, on the other hand, has to go into every thread since he's a mod.. (Not sure, but I think mods/crew have to do that)..

I'm a member of two bball forums, including this one, and just the other day I thought 'Clutch BBS doesn't have the type of ego-inflating, name-calling, post-count-matters-most people on board, it's just normal basketball discussion.' But then I saw the one word mistranslation of pryuen and the whole board just seemed to implode.....the season needs to start quicker or else it will get worse.

Hey, Curly. How are Larry and Moe? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Seriously, nice post. I don't post much in the GARM because I know NOTHING of how the salary cap works and frankly, I don't care. I just want to watch the games.

I'm sort of a bandwagon fan. I jumped on board only after the Rockets moved here from San Diego...

    Haha. Thats a good one.

I don't post much in the GARM either. It gets too confusing and messy. So many random useless threads that I don't care to keep up with. I just want to watch games! The threads that do interest me end up moving way to fast and I can't keep up with them or don't have the time to.

The hangout is much more chill. Threads don't move as fast and it is pretty easy to keep up with a discussion on which British chick from the last Entourage episode I'd rather bone. :D

    Different folks , different strokes.

to quote from the movie "Saved " ( where the antagonist was a born-again christian fundamentalist extremist trying to convert everyone) : " If God intended us to be all the same, he wouldn't have made us all so different." Indeed, bigotry has sparked too many conflicts around the world.

The thing that is very revolting about some posters is they are so filled with bigotry. People come from different ethnicity, have different persuasions, different motivations for loving the rockets, they don't have to conform to the stereotype , traditional Larry smith worshipping rocket fan. The least you can accord the new fans is a measure of tolerance. In the mind of an extremist or bigot, there is room for only "one group".
Clutchfans is a great fan site because it is open to all. As long as it is open to all, you will never find "Unity " or uniformity in the "larry smith" sense . as one saying goes " You can only find uniformity in the graveyard."
