The medicine was causing him to be nauseated. He never really gave it a chance. I believe the evil media reported that they weren't sure if this condition would run over to next season. Hakeem will make 16 million next year...I don't see him sitting out.

And to the other note...Pig Miller will play his butt off the rest of the season hoping to make the squad next year. Cato starts and Carlos gets more playing time...I like it. Like I said, they played more run and gun and fun basketball when Hakeem was on the bench.

    3RINGS:
Asthma can work in mysterious ways. I suffer from asthma induced by allergies. I never had any symptons until about 3 years ago. I played HS & college level football (at a small DIII college) and never had any problems until I bought my dog. Ever since I have to get a monthly allergy shot and use 2 inhalers, which fixes mosts of the problems, and I am able to level a normal athletic life of working out & running.
I feel secure that if it was asthma that it could be treated to the point where Dream could play effectively. So I am not sure why Dream won't use his inhalers.
I wonder if their is more to the story than asthma? Sounds suspicious to me.

why make a big deal out of this. The man knows it doesn't matter anymore this season, so he's gonna start summer vacation early this year. I'd do the same thing in his position. Plus, his wife probably told him the same thing.

3Rings-- My father-in-law didn't have any asthma symptons until 10 years ago. At Christmas, his airways closed completely off. He almost died. He was/is an avid swimmer and golfer, who still carries his own bag. Needless to say, asthma can be a very serious disease. He carries inhalers at all times. If Hakeem can't tolerate the inhalers, I'm not sure what he can do.

    Couple of things:

    1. He is diagnosed with RAD (Reactive Airway Disease) which is a "condition" that is sometimes persistent. Best treatment is mild medications and rest. When you do not rest or when you stress your respiratory system or if you have a particularly tenacious situation ... you try more aggressive treatments including oral bronchodilators and inhalant therapy.

Both of these remedies cause increased heart rate, excitablity (followed by fatique in some cases), insomnia, muscle cramping, nausea, upset stomach (dyspepsia), etc... I look at this as Hakeem taking a different approach to his treatment.

    2. IMHO He robably should have done it a few weeks ago.

    3. IMHO Hakeem is embarassed over the whole affair and his performance of late.

    4. IMHO This was not Hakeem's final game.

    5. IMHO This is Hakeem's final year.

    POPeye,

    1. I knew it wasn't just simple "asthma". Not that asthma is simple, but that Hakeem's condition is not as common.

    2. I agree

    3. I agree

    4. I agree

    5. I disagree (Or I am hoping not)
